I have a fairly hard to come by S&W snubby for sale. It's a model 638 NO DASH. Chambered in .38 Special caliber. One of only about 500 no dash models made (S/N BEK7###). This is a pre-lock model with the standard/shiny aluminum finish instead of the frosted/matte painted finishes you see on the later models. The only real cosmetic issue on it is a few small scratches on the rear sight groove (top strap). I'm not sure of the round count - I'm not the original owner, I got it in a trade a little while back. It appears to have not been shot too much as it's got a pretty tight lockup and the turn ring on the cylinder doesn't look too bad.
This isn't a gun for someone who is just looking for a 638 to carry. It's one of the harder-to-find models that many S&W collectors need to fill in a hole in their collection. It's hard to come up with a good and fair asking price as there haven't been too many of these come available in recent years. But I believe a very fair and reasonable price is WITHDRAWN in the Bartlett/Northeast Memphis, Tennessee area.
I'm willing to discuss shipping if the buyer isn't local and is willing to pick up the shipping costs. But I'd of course only do it by the book (Air shipping to your FFL) which isn't necessarily cheap. Your FFL would have to be ok with receiving the gun from a non-dealer. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I am fairly new to this board, but I can provide references upon request. Thanks!
