Last night I watched a new show about museums (forgot the name) and it highlighted a 1930 Colt SAA .45 that belonged to a Texas Ranger Captain from the 50's named Alfred Y. Allee Sr. I froze the picture and there was a great closeup of the unmistaken W&K pawnshop engraving. It also sported silver mexican stocks ornamented with a Texas emblem, ruby eye, and all the usual berries and engraving typical of these. The show was in Texas and the "expert" didn't mention W&K but did have the sense to tell the host they would not shoot it when the guy wanted to. Anyone else see that show and remember the name?

That's interesting. There's a A.Y. Allee Jr. "Our" A.Y. Allee was his dad and apparently was a very tough guy with a short temper. But not, it seems, as much so as his trigger happy grandfather. Thanks, Merrill.

There are several generations of Allee Rangers; A Y Jr and A Y are buried in Carrizo Springs, Texas. See Joaquin Jackson's "One Ranger" & "One Ranger Returns" for some recent events involving both generations.

Their father / grandfather was killed in Crystal City, Texas, after he had killed another man in a dispute.

He was killed by the son of the man he had just killed.
