This outstanding factory fresh .357 was a gift from my wife. She enlisted the help of a close friend who deals in high end doubles (and has a keen eye for these things).
I really think the second gen guns are some of the best to collect and own. My reasoning is as follows…
1. Fit and finish is amazing.
2. They can still be found in very high to new unfired condition. Although in my opinion they are quickly leaving the general market and into discerning collections.
3. As someone who enjoys the high condition aspects of the guns in my collection, I can buy them at a price that still seems somewhat reasonable (I know that view is subjective).
4. It is my way of going back in time, where it's 1960 and you pick up a gun just as it left the factory, box and all.
As an aside, I really like the odd calibers. Yes, I own .45s and love shooting them, but the other calibers are scarcer, and hey….that red label on the box just speaks to me.
your opinions may differ, just thought you may want to read about mine.
Yes, wifey is definitely a keeper (37 years and counting).
