I recently purchased three leo used mags for my 5906 and I'm considering buying new mag springs for them.

I guess two options are from S&W, or from Wolff.

I notice the Wolff springs come with two options, a +5% and and +10%..

What is the advantage in buying these, (if any) over the standard springs from S&W?

I just don't understand the trade off, and standard pressure springs are not offered by Wolff.

Thanks!

The + springs are meant to address Failure To Feed issues. If the pistols don't have FTF issues then I would go with the standard. Thats' my understanding of the + mag springs. Hill2

Hi:

Well, that's sorta what I thought, but I don't see where Wolff offers a standard spring, only a +5 and +10.

Thanks,

Jesse

Actually - I was surprised too. I bought recoil springs yesterday and Wolff has several #s both sides of standard - and standard in the middle. Hill2

Hill2:

Well, I'll just mosey on back to the Wolff site and check more carefully.. I could have easily overlooked the standard option as I'm about 80% semi-senile anyway..

Thanks!

P.S. Semi-senile, but well armed...

Well - you got me thinking so I just went to http://www.midwayusa.com and found Wolff standard #s for the 5906 mags. I'm newly retired and more disorganized and forgetful than when I went to work everyday. Hill2

Jesse - BTW - my first semi was the 910 which you probably know is the "value series" of the 5906. It has been 100% reliable with anything I put through it and I don't have to worry about keeping the finish like new. I'll be shooting it today when I take out an old S&W Mod 37 that I just rebuilt and see if she still shoots after I tinkered with it. Hill2

Hill2:

I'm coming to the conclusion that the only people who appreciate the Smith & Wesson pistols are those folks who have actually owned one, or shot one...
