Now that DWFan is no longer doing this sort of work does anybody know of somebody who can do good quality repair-rehab on wood grips? Right now I have a couple of older Colt DS that need to have the checkering re-cut and the grips refinished.

Couldn't find either 44magget or magget44 in the membership roster, but I could have sworn I had noticed the name on the forum. I am puzzled.
Blink several times and go look again for 44magget, he is here.

FOUND IT. Turns out the forum roster is VERY SPECIFIC about the layout of the user name. Sent him a pm. THANKS GUYS. Also emailed Donfurr2 to see what he has to say.
Sorry I gave you a bad spelling. Curtis just checkered a pair of smooth combats for me and did work on coke grips for my friend. Here's a photo. I did a post on these a month ago. Best wishes
