Can someone recommend some aftermarket wooden grips for an older Model 37 J-frame? The factory grips are small for my hand, so I am looking for something a little larger, but not bulky.

If you want to go cheap you can get a new set of Sile grips for less than $20. They are larger and comfortable to me. You might find an old set of Herrets on ebay. The ones I really like are the target grips that S&W used to sell for the J frame. You don't see them too often.

Not exactly "aftermarket" but I just love my "banana" grips. I lucked into them on ebay. The feel smaller, and less sticky, than rubber grips in my pocket but much larger in my hand. They allow you to hold the weapon higher and get all your fingers on the grip, both of which help in perceived recoil. Every month or so there are a pair on eBay, but sometimes they are dear. I've seen them more often with checkering. I would guess there is an aftermarket source that would be less expensive.

:) Tom I have the same problem you do. I bought these Herretts grips here on the forum, but I have seen them on Ebay several times. They go for about $25 or so. I think they also look good. Don

Hi,

An aftermarket "T-grip" by Tyler was "the ticket" back "in the day" with those neat Model 37 Airweights and . . . IMHO . . . it is still the very best way to go for concealment and easy control, comfort and shooting!

That's what I use with my original stocks and it shoots quite comfortably and conceals as great as it would without the T-grip. This little pocket rocket is my "always" CCW handgun . . . all business. Check out a T-grip and I think you'll concur!
