Woodford Reserve...

Not a Woodford fan but I'm a big fan of bourbon. Weller Antique is the best bourbon out there right now. Hard to find at retail price. My favorite; HenryMckenna 10yr has doubled in price to $50 for 750ml.

A fine whiskey. Can't go wrong with a sippin' whiskey like that.
As sheepdawg wrote, the double oaked is outstanding.
One of those whiskeys I treat myself to once or twice a year.

I’m a big fan of wheated bourbons. In the early 90’s I worked at the Stitzell-Weller Distillery in Louisville. I still have a few bottles of Weller, Old Fitzgerald, and Rebel Yell left from those days. Great bourbon was made at that distillery inc the famous Pappy Van Winkle.
The company historian walk by my desk with a very old bottle of bourbon that was part of the first batch made after prohibition. They were having a tasting with some media folks. Afterwards he stopped by my desk and without saying a word pour a snootfull in my coffee cup. It was a wonderful moment in my blessed life.
It was a sad day when that distillery was shut down.

We enjoy bourbon every once in a while, but the wheated bourbons, other than Maker's, are hard to come by in our state run ABC store. (Also difficult to come by some of the lesser known, relatively lower priced but highly sought after offerings from the non-wheated side of the house.)

That said, we won't be running out anytime soon.

Wishing I had some WR in my Woodford Reserve glass, instead of this plebeian ET and Coke...

Good stuff but I admire them more for being the sponsor of the "Kentucky Derby". They put their money where their reputation is!

More of a beer person here and has it from time to time(diabetic, so limited imbibing). Maker's Mark is quite good. Wendy is a Wild Turkey 101 fan.

Currently on my bourbon shelf I have Maker's Mark, Knob Creek, Larceny, and Woodford Reserve.

Have also enjoyed Elijah Craig small batch and Old Forester recently.

MINT JULEP
The traditional Derby Day cocktail, and a southern ritual crafted from bourbon, simple syrup and mint.

INGREDIENTS
2 oz. Woodford Reserve
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
3 Fresh Mint Leaves
Crushed Ice

INSTRUCTIONS
Express the essential oils in the mint and rub them inside the glass. To the same glass, add simple syrup, bourbon, and crushed ice. Stir. Garnish with more ice and fresh mint.

Great Bourbon! My dad got me started on Old Forester, but I like Woodford Reserve as well. Maker's Mark is not as sweet. GOOD bourbon is one you can drink without the aid of something else in the glass.
