Hi everyone,
bought this some time ago at a local estate sale and would like to get more info on this 4566TSW. Came with the holster and one magazine. No additional information was provided.
At the time I was looking for some home protection since my wife and I had just moved to a remote area. She's not thrilled with the weight of the gun and I'm contemplating on getting something a bit more comfortable for her since I'm traveling a lot.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays

For home protection maybe a 9c or a g26, if she wants something even lighter or smaller shield 9 or a g43. I would take her to a shooting range and let her try whatever she feels more comfortable with.

The 4566TSW is a very heavy firearm, 39 oz if I recall correctly but a real joy to shoot, extremely soft recoil and very accurate. I shoot mine almost weekly. I believe it was and maybe still is in use by the LAPD and many others as well. Having said that, I would really recommend a much lighter handgun for your wife to master. If she can handle the weight that would be great but if like my wife, it is just too heavy to shoot comfortably. She does however shoot the Ruger SP101 with a 2 1/4 in inch barrel very well. Lots of good choices out there.

I know zero about that gun but it sure is a nice looking one. I have to ask and excuse the newbie question: that's a 45cal correct?
Reason for asking, if something is desired for the wife and practice will be important, a 9mm may make more sense if nothing else due to lower ammo costs. At least in my mind, the more ammo i can buy the more i will send down the range.

A side note, my wife rarely shoots with me but up until recently did not care much for my compact and full size MP 9's spending her time plinking with the .22's. But she did 'enjoy' my new Shield (a PC model), for her seemed to fit the best. So knowing each person is different, i would suggest a Shield as an option. Just my .02

Nice 4566. Those ones are worth some $$$ because of the intergrated rail, as opposed to the riveted on one.

We have shot our Beretta 92s for many years but about a year ago my wife decided she wanted to carry. So I researched and came up w/ a list of 6 pistols I thought might be good for her. We went to a gun show and she spent 40 minutes back and forth eliminating from that list until she got a Glock 19. It is not my favorite (I have M&P9c) but she is happy w/ it. I got her a purse from

She likes it because the gun is hidden in it's own zippered compartment so she doesn't have to worry about someone seeing it at work or lunch etc. Then, after a shooting on the news, I asked her to carry another mag w/ 19 rnds. That purse is dang heavy but she feels prepared and that is great feeling.
