Already have several 38/357 J Frames.
Have No interest in a flip -flop cylinder J Frame.
But do have interest in a 9MM One.

I have a 640-1 I inherited from my late brother.

I have a 36 that was my Dad's.

My EDC is a 442NL.

I'm good, although a 9mm built on the non-Magnum frame might be interesting.

I would probably pass only because I imagine price would be around $1200. Get the cost down to $750 real cost and it would be intriguing.

Realistically you are correct. It shouldn’t be that overpriced but we all know how it works also

You can buy a new cylinder at Midwest Gun Works for 112 bucks
Smith & Wesson J-Frame Cylinder, 38 Special, Stainless: MGW

Heck just realized something. Since I do CNC moon clip conversions and offer two different levels. A premium and a basic, the basic is the equivalent of a factory moon clip cut. Folks could have a second cylinder with it cut for moon clips for 112 cyl and 75 basic moon clip cut. 186 total to have extra cyl ain’t bad

I did this conversion for my 627 pro & like the flexibility.

As such, I’d be interested in a J, K, L and N frame factory conversion kits offerings

IMHO in a 2” J Frame, NOTHING beats a M60-7! Everything you want and nothing you don’t! I’ve personally got no interest in stoking a Revolver with automatic pistol ammunition and don’t care much for interchangeable cylinders-but that’s just me.

In our current litigious and political climate, I dont think the mothership would ever sell a gun with interchangeable cylinders today.
We are having a tough enough time asking to just get rid of internal locks.
It just takes one bottom if the barrel smooth brain to screw up a cylinder swap to ever allow this to happen.

My warm weather EDC gun is a 442 airweight loaded with plus p 38 loads.I would buy another in 9mm in a heartbeat. I’ve had several 940’s but I felt they were to heavy for what they were.
