I was shocked to see that O'Rielly go duped into this fund, and I haven't heard him issue any retractions either (please correct me if I am wrong)

I remember Bill saying how anyone pumping charities should be on the hook for checking out the organizations no matter how well meaning they might be. So what the hell happened on his end? I appreciate all he's done for vets everywhere, but this one seems like a no brainer to avoid. I'd really like to know how or why he didn't do more due diligence before recommending them. Disappointed to say the least.

Again, if I am mistaken about Bill making amends on this issue please let me know...

I gave up on O'Reilly after he ignored the many emails he got to retract his ridiculous statements after the Conn. shootings that "Anyone can walk into a gun show and buy a machine gun or a bazooka". As far as I'm concerned he's at best just another ignorant jerk.

Good riddance. Sometimes the right thing happens.

I agree nobody should work for free, but their compensation should be reasonable and the fund percentage going to the charity should be commensurate with other similar charities.

And speaking of that: Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is the top one for this type of cause in case anybody wants to support disabled vets.

I think it is outrageous they knew of Nardizzi's extravagant spending 5 years ago but didn't put a stop to it until it hit the media. The news reported that their overhead was 54% and I believe it said they took in a few hundred million a year.

Most charities run between 10-20% overhead and the rest for the cause/programs. There are several websites now that rate charities based on the overhead/cause ratio and work they do. It is a good idea to check out charities before you give.

I hope WWP gets their act together because they do have wonderful programs and it would be great to see them expand their programs (with all that money they are now saving) and do more.

I know a couple (2) of people with "Non-Profit" charitable businesses, biggest crock of **** there is. They only have to use 50% of the donations for the charity itself, the other 50% can be used for expenses and SALARIES! Guess who sets the salaries. One of the guy's I know brings in millions a year in donations due to his cause.

Last week I called Harley Davidson, actually got to talk to a real person and expressed my displeasure at the corporate partnership with WWP. You can't walk into a dealer without seeing all the t-shirts, etc branded HD and WWP.

She listened, even asked a few questions and said she appreciated me taking the time to call. I offered there are lots of military oriented charities the MoCo could look in to partnering with. Hey, sometimes I'm an optimist.

As the son of a WWII vet and proud father of a current Army E6 with lots of friends that came home less than whole it's an issue close to my heart, like many of you.

Anytime a charity raises it's head you can be sure there a crook or two involved.
I remember years ago the president of the united way was found to get a salary of around $100.000.00 as a professional beggar.
Sad to say the only charities I will give to from the local churches.

Many charity organizations are corrupt....

I try to take my charity to the source and stay away from organizations unless they are shown to have minimal operating costs. The Salvation Army is one of those.

I was at the range a few years ago sighting in my AR carbine with iron sights at 100 yards. My wife was in the truck listening to O'Reilly pontificate about how the east coast " snipers " when caught would turn out to be highly trained former military.

My wife got out of the truck and asked to shoot my carbine which she had never even touched before. At 100 yards her first shot was a little off from the IPSC A zone .I then saw she was using one of the sight protecting wings as a front sight. When she corrected her mistake she put the next two rounds in the A zone.

I take full credit for " Highly Training " her.
