Any regular contributors to this project?

I just signed up to make a monthly contribution. It's a cause I feel strongly about. I checked and discovered that more of the money received goes to serving veterans than goes to administrative expense, something I do before donating to anything. Clearly it's legit. The figures are impressive.

Contributing seemed the least I could do to assist people who have given so much for their country and mine.

I have donated, but cant afford to monthly. However, im just breaking into trying to sell stuff on ebay and I signed up for one of the veterans charities so every auction I have, if the item sells? 10% of the money gets deducted from my account to go to the vets org. I really cant afford that but--I owe vets and current military--my extreme gratitude that the donations from the auctions--as well as when I can to the WWP--that it is a priviledge to give what I can give.

I am not on the monthly plan, but I do contribute when I can.

I also contribute to the USO. Let's not forget about our active service men and women.

God Bless our Military, both past and present.

When mom passed away, since she was a nurse and both my father and brother were career Army, we asked in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Wounded Warriors. It is certainly a great project.

As my wife says however, it's a shame we, as citizens, have to do this for our veterans instead of we, as the government, taking care of them!

I hope that's not too political.

If you do some research on WWP being anti-gun etc. you might be surprised by what you find. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of helping vets of all types, just be careful where your money goes.

Just did some online research. Very interesting.
Still more reading to do to get the whole picture.
I may have to reconsider where I send my contributions.

Well, now I'm embarrassed. I just saw this comment from the Wounded Warrior Project:
In the case of cobranding, we've decided that we're not going to offer our logo to appear on weapons anymore - whether they're guns, knives, bows, swords, or any other type of weapon. There are still a few of the guns around for sale that had licensed our logo years ago, but there aren't any new ones being made. This is purely a business decision based on a review of a return on investment, especially when compared with other types of cobranding ventures.
This is bureaucratic double talk. They don't want to allow their logo to be on guns because of return on investment? It costs them NOTHING to allow anyone to use their logo. AND, by allowing use of their trade marked logo, they get a percentage of the sale. Even if it's just a penny, it's a huge return on the investment of ZERO!

I have supported this organization and promoted them. As of this moment I will not anymore. Neither does it help my sensibilities that the CEO is making over $300K on our donations. I'm not opposed to a hard working individual making a lot of money based on their work. But, if they are going to limit their exposure through lies and double talk, I question if this CEO is really doing all he can to help our warriors.

I serve on a church committee that deals with worthy projects and donations. It was suggested to us that we look into the WWP as a possible organization that we contribute to and raise funds for. I was asked to check it out. Reading an article in a church magazine, I discovered that the WWP had turned down a donation along with a registration deposit for a fund raiser from a Baptist church in Florida. In checking with the WWP, I was told the following:

"The WWP will not accept any donation or partner with any project or themes that is sexual, political, or religious in nature, or from alcohol or firearms companies."

I knew of the discussion that occurred on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk program where WWP Public Relations Director Leslie Coleman flat responded "NO" we will not sponsor or co-sponsor any event with a firearm theme.

My position is that the WWP is worthy, and if one wants to donate to them as a individual, then go for it. Also, I have a friend who works for Under Armor, and they are endorsed by the WWP to sell tee shirts and other outer clothing articles. I wear several of their clothing line and always get positive comments on them. Please check them out.........
