WOW - .22 LR at WallyWorld

Last week, the local WM had the 550 rd box of Remington Golden Bullet for about the same price, but I already have more than enough .22. I remember that before the first Obama election, the same box was $9.99.

I just got Federal Auto Match 325 round boxes at my local Walmart for $18.73, 3 for me and 3 my wife got.

The sporting goods store across from Walmart had about a 100 boxes of Remington Thunder Bolt (525 count) for $55.00 each, I will never pay that price for Thunder Bolt ammo (the worst ammo).

I was also recently in Minnesota a few weeks ago and another sporting goods shop had 100's of Winchester Super X (300 count) boxes for $55.00 each, too much money so I passed.

It's good to see that Walmart doesn't rip off customers for ammo, I just have to keep checking when they have stock.

Here's my update.

Had to be in Wallymart to pick up a prescription today. They actually had about 15 guns in the rack and one single box of Winchester 12 ga. trap rounds. I didn't check the price.

I beg to differ, the "Golden Bullets" are worse.

Academy had the same box of Thunder Bolts for $39 last week.

I had an appointment in a neighboring town yesterday and stopped in one of my favorite dealers shop. This is a fair size shop and strictly guns and related items like cases and holsters. A few months ago they were down to a half dozen guns and no ammo. They've not had any ammo for months. Yesterday not only were they totally stocked with guns at pre pandemic prices the had the shelves stocked pretty well with ammo. Unfortunately the ammonia was at higher prices but there was a pretty good selection of calibers.

Just estimating I'd say they had over 150 AR and AK platform rifles, a very good selection of lever and bolt actions too. They even had several Smith and colt revolvers. As mentioned ammo was a bit higher.

The small shops in my town are getting ammo now at higher prices but when supply is plentiful and sales slow down prices will return to a more normal level. I expect them to be up some though due to inflation.

I've had some good luck finding Federal 325 round packs at a few local Walmarts lately. Bought max allowed 3 boxes at two seperate stores over the last week.

Was in wally world about a week ago. So wandered over to the ammo counter. Much to surprise they had about 8-9 boxes of federal Auto Match. About $19 a box which has 330 rounds. So got 3 boxes. And except fpr about 4 boxes that was all they had. And no firearms in the display counter. This is one of their super centers and appears to be poorly operated. Unstocked shelves, meaning nothing that should be there wasn't. Mens dept found only 1 pack of white crew socks.. area where there there was a huge selection of potato fries, just nothing but bare shelves in the freezer. Really sad as we were in there almost every week.A real shame as a lot of folks depends on that store for food and other thinks. Frank

The wally world I work part time at has been getting some ammo in pretty regularly for the last few months. Most of the time the quantities are small, a few boxes at a time. Last week for some reason we received 11 cases of Federal Fusion 30/30. Have also gotten a few cases of the Auto Match 22 as well. Since they put limits on quantities it has made it possible for more people to get at least some ammo at a reasonable price.

Of course "reasonable" can change, Sunday when I went in to work there was a price change and new labels set out for me to do. Virtually all the Remington, CCI and Federal ammo went up in price (hint: they are all owned by the same corporation). Some were only a dollar or two a box higher (mostly the 22's), others were quite a bit more. Federal 7mm Mag went from $24 to $32, the Fusion 30/30's jumped about $5 a box. Still a lot cheaper than the flea market/gun show prices and many small shops. There aren't a lot of places around here for people to buy ammo without driving a ways so at least they are still selling it and the prices are still better than I see at most places.

Local ww has little bit of ammo again. 325 box of Fed. 22 match which my Supermatic and Colt target love for the usual $21 and some change. There were more 7.62 Fed. ball for $21 a box, some 350 and lot s of assorted shot shell. Oh, the no buy 22 win was sitting there too.

At WM for a few groceries, 1 box/20 Federal 308 on the shelf. Until today, price was $20.46. Today $23.86. Still less than $1.20/round, but hate to see higher prices even at WM. :-(

I bought Federal Auto Match .22LR at Wally World last Thursday for .064 cents each. Same price as about 2 years ago. A box of 325 was 18.?? each.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Me 2! Bought 2-325 round Boxes of Federal.
That shoots good in all my 22s except my Problem Child Small 22 Autos.

I've visited a few Wally's in my travels lately yesterday payed $12.23 for 100rnd Winchester Super X 40gr Hyper Velocity. CCI Clean 22lr polymer tip 200rnd in the little milk carton think I payed approximately $18 for those. Did score some 410 on one visit and some 12 gauge #4s.
