like everyone havent been able to find squat for pistol powder locally, but did find a pound of WSF and heard that its decent for 9mm and up

I will be using 115,124,147 gr extreme plated for 9mm and if it works for 45 also 200 and 230 gr extreme plated.

Anyone use WSf with similiar bullets, any load/chrony data?

thanks

will work fine for medium to upper end loads. I don't think it works well for target velocity loads.

5.7 with a ww 115 jhp gives me 1250 fps from both of my 5904 & 5906.

I couldn't get 1000 fps with the 147 gr bullet.

It works real well in field to heavy field loads in the 12 and 20 ga shotshells.

I USE IT FOR BOTH 9MM AND .45. JUST FOLLOW THE FACTORY PUBLISHED LOADING DATA. BELOW IS WHAT I USE.

9MM 5.4GR WSF W/115GR JHP VERY ACCURATE AT 50YDS
I FORGOT 4.0 WSF WITH 147GR JHP IS A GREAT LOAD FOR THE S&W PC AUTOS

.45ACP 6.3GR WSF W/230GR FMJ. THIS I KNOW TO BE 855 FPS. THIS IS THE MOST ACCURATE 50YD 230GR LOAD I HAVE EVER USED.

My gunsmith uses it in his competition loads for the 9 and 45. I'm using it in lieu of W-231, for my 9 and 45. It shoots well.

I use WSF for 9mm. I was also using it for 40 S&W but stopped because I shoot way more 9mm than anything else. I have just under 5 pounds of WSF left. I'm using Unique for 40.

I have found that WSF burns cleaner than 231. I use 5.2 grains for both 115 and 124 fmjs. It gives right around 1100 fps out of my 226.

Ready to load some 9mm loads up with WSf and 124/137 gr extreme plated bullets for my 9mm glock and m&p.

Gonna start with these loads what do you think?

124gr RN 4.5 - 4.8 - 5.1

147gr RN 3.7 - 3.9 - 4.1

Not sure on trying it with 45acp loads yet, but researching around looks like for a

200gr RN extreme plated 6- 6.5 grains

And i have some 230 grain jacketed zero bullets and looks like a good load somewhere in the

230gr jacketed RN zero 5.8 - 6.4grains of WSF

It is one of my fav 9mm & 40 powders. It does fine 45acp, but better ther at the top end.

My gunsmith uses WSF in his competition loads for the 9mm and 45 ACP. I used it myself, but sold what I had to him when I finally found my favorite powders. Go to the Hodgdon site for load data: Hodgdon Reloading | Home :)

In general, asking for load data on the internet is not good practice. Stick with the manuals and the supplier websites and always start low and work up. I understand the impulse to ask but my experience says most "in the know" will at best tell you that "bullet X is similar to Y so start with the low end data in your book for Y". People aren't being rude, they're being careful.

Thats where i got my numbers from, was just wondering if others have loaded similiar and what they had thought :)

use 6.2 under a berry's 230 grain round nose bullet in my 45's. Accurate, clean, nice shooting.

WSF works great in the 9mm but doesn't burn that clean in the 45 ACP unless it's loaded on the warm side (and then it KICKS!) Here's a few tested loads in both.
