S.W. Has both in stock and I don't have either. My current stock consists of: Titegroup, B.E., P.Pistol, HP38, CFE, AA5, RS Zip, BE86, HS6, Red Dot. Oops, forgot Unique

I am currently loading.45 and 9, (38 special someday). Would either of these powders be worth adding to my inventory? I guess the question is Are they particularly good in either of the calibers I'm currently loading?

Hah! I prefer Bullseye in .45, and WST .38!

It's about as fine-grained Bullseye, perhaps even more so. The stuff just flows like sand. And it delivers slightly lower velocities accurately. What I like most about it is, the same Lee Auto-Disk cavity will deliver 2.8 grains of Bullseye (.38 158-gr LSWCs) or 2.5 grains of WST (.38 148-gr wadcutters).

If you really like experimenting with different loads and powders, it's an enjoyable powder to work with. If you don't, I think you're already well-covered by BE and HP38 for .38 Spl, and BE and Titegroup for .45.

Sounds like WST would be a good one to have. I ended up with quite a variety when powder was scarce a couple years ago and would grab whatever was available.

Guess you can't have too many powders.:D. Shooting a 5" E Series in the 45

My SW1911PC really likes 4.2g of WST under a 200g LSWC.

I use WST in my 45 auto . It shoots every accurately . I use about 4.0 grs with a 230 gr rn . It is supposed to shoot , according to others @ about 775 fps . It gives you about 1750 rounds / lb of powder . That is very cheap shooting .
WSF is my Unique replacement . When I couldn't find Unique I switched over to WSF and haven't never regretted it . It is just a tad slower on most burn rate charts than Unique . Load data is a little thin for it so I use Unique load data for starters . In the 9mm WSF is supposed to be THE premier powder w/147gr bullets . I use WSF exclusively for mid range 357 magnum loads and they are incredibly accurate . I shoot 7.5 grs under a 158 gr SWC .
I use both in 38spl , depending if I want just std 38 spl loads or do I want 38+P loads . WSF is the powder for those +P loads . Good Luck

I own seven powders. Five quick-burning, two midrange.

Unique
Bullseye
WST
Titegroup
HP-38
IMR 700-X
Universal

I just can't help myself.

The upside is, if I ever want to add another cartridge, it's very likely I already have the perfect powder to make target loads for it!

Out of all of them, I've got 8 pounds of Unique and a little over 3 of BE, the rest are a pound at a time. I would happily buy a 4-pound jug of the BE when that ran down. WST is superb but I wouldn't buy more than a pound at a time (a single pound lasts for 2,800 .38s). I haven't had a chance to try HP-38 and Titegroup, as I just got them the other day.

700-X is okay, but doesn't do anything that the others don't do better. I haven't been able to get Universal to run very well, even in high-pressure cartridges. I've found Unique to be more universal than Universal--it's worked well in everything from .38 to .44 Mag.

WST is my favorite powder for plinking loads in 45acp, 9mm and 38spl. Burns clean, meters great and very economical. Just bought another 8lb. jug for $135 from my gun club.
Can't speak for WSF as I've never tried it.

You will be pleased with the metering and the performance of WST. The only powders I don't like are the ones that don't meter well:) Get some!

Yep. And it meters well, too.

WST it is. If it's still there when I go back.

Wst is my fav 45acp powder hands down. I also use it in 9mm & 40 minor loads, very soft shooting & accurate with all bullet types.

I use WST in my 9mm match load with 147g plated bullets great load. A lot of people have their likes and favorites and one of mine is WST. Like the OP I put a variety of powders on my shelf during the shortage and WSF was one of them but I haven't even tired it yet after 2 or 3 years. I guess I'm just lazy.

WST Appears to be a favorite for .45 for sure and good for 9mm as well. I'll start there and that should set me for powder for a while. Now I better work on primers, they are getting a bit sparse around here.

I've only used WST in both my 45's. Once I found a good load 4.5grs with hard cast 230 gr rn I've never changed. Excellent accuracy and just plain fun to shoot. Frank

Wsf is a great fit for full power 9 & 45. Think of it as better metering unique.

After loading 231 and Bullseye for 30 years, WST is now my go-to plinking powder in .38 & .45.

As to primers; I'm a huge fan of Federals and will use none other in my match guns. However, due to price and availability at Cabelas, I was tempted to try the Sellier & Bellot small pistol primers. On every metric...seating satisfaction, ease of ignition and velocity/accuracy in proven loads....they were excellent. And, of course, the 2/3 price is fantastic. Recently bought multi-thousands.

I use both and in most of my calibers I prefer WST but in a couple loads WSF is more accurate.
