Howdy all,
I've decided to sell my shooter-grade WWII .38/200 British Victory.
THE GOOD:
Gun is complete, original, undamaged, and relatively unmolested; has original 5" barrel, lanyard loop, matte grey-black phosphate finish, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" stamp, and smooth walnut stocks. Serial numbers match on butt, cylinder, and barrel flat. Gun retains original .38S&W chambering; has not been reamed out to fire .38Spl. It has no apparent rust and the bore is pristine. I have fired roughly 150 rounds through this gun; it functions perfectly and is very accurate. It appears to have been fired very little in its lifetime.
THE BAD & THE UGLY:
Frame and sideplate have lots of small, shallow scratches on both sides that look worse in sunlight than they do in photos. Stocks appear to have been sanded and refinished with shellac. Serial number inside RH stock appears to be partial match, but is partially unreadable due to apparent moisture- or chemical-induced swelling (which could explain the refinish). Gun has numerous British Nitro Proof marks on cylinder and barrel.
More pics can be provided upon request.
Asking $275 shipped to 03 C&R or 01 Dealer FFL, or $225 FTF in DFW area with C&R or TX CHL. Cash or postal money orders accepted. I plan to attend the Market Hall Gun Show at some point this weekend and can arrange to meet there.
Will consider the following S&W trades, in descending order of preference. Will throw some cash into the deal if needed. Shooter-grade guns with minor to moderate finish wear are OK.
3" .38Spl J frame, steel frame and spurred hammer preferred (M36 or M60)
2" .38Spl K frame, fixed sights, RB (M10 or M64)
39-series single-stack 9mm semi-auto (39, x39, 39xx, or 908), compact preferred but not mandatory
.32 Regulation Police (M31)
Thanks for looking!
