I recently purchased a Model 500, and, although very smooth, the trigger pull is way too heavy (IMHO) - about 4.5# in single action and 13.5# in DA. Otherwise, very smooth and crisp. I can't find any listings for reduced power rebound springs or main springs for the X frame guns, are they the same as those for a K frame (since the grip frame has the same basic dimensions as a round butt K)? If they are unique to this frame, does anybody know if Wolff makes them? I strongly suspect 500 Magnum Nut has the answer to these questions.

The trigger parts are the same. So a reduced power rebound spring will lighten the trigger pull.

Personally, I wouldn't lighten the pull on the 500 because the chance of a double could happen. You might experience the cylinder unlocking or other weird, possibly dangerous things could happen if using very powerful loads.

So you have a heads up if you decide to lighten it....

Check out the videos, on this from S&W as a engineer shoots the 500 1 handed. Notice the trigger finger as he inadvertently presses the trigger after the shot breaks.
Another video is unknown but looks plausible.

Thanks so much for the info, I never thought about the potential for doubling with a lighter trigger pull. Although I always felt that the .50 Cal was the only machine gun worth its salt, I don't really want to try it out as a hand held!
