I recently bought 686-6. I would rather have had an older lock free gun, but it turned out to be real sweet after a little trigger work. My brother-in-law the best in the west!!!, gave my son a highway patrolman ?? The bigger framed .357 felt better in my big fat hands. I was told x frame grips will fit the L frame. who has the best grips and where is the best online sight??

I just checked mine. My 686-1 is a true square but. My 460 XVR is a round but with square grips. They do not interchange. It might be possible if your 686-6 is a round but.

Hey there Paper Killer: Go to the Smith & Wesson web site, smith-wesson.com, go to the Online Store and search for grips. On the second page are the .500 grips for $36.76. The 500 uses the same round butt that is on the 686 you have.

They cover the back strap so put your hand a little farther from the trigger, and they absorb recoil very well.

got neighbor hooked

Hay night Owl; Dennis has old p38, we just got through cleaning it looks to be in good shape. He wants to poke holes in some paper. He had colt diamondback 22, sold it years ago. Now has found they are a little expensive to buy.
