Does anybody have any experience with the X-grip mag extender on a 9c? Likes? Dislikes? Do you CC with it?

I have a couple for range outings. They don't fit all that great.

I wouldn't use them for cc because that defeats the purpose of it being a compact

I don't have it, but some thoughts... I would use it for backup with the 17 rounder, but something I'd be checking out is, how much, if any, does it move and is there any chance it would keep the mag from fully seating at that worst moment.

In other words, if the extender (a spacer) isn't seated fully against the mag floor, when you put it in the mag well, the X-Grip might prevent the mag from seating right away and cost you precious time or worse.

So I'd be testing that and if that's the case, I'd find a way to prevent it from slipping.

A note about longer mags used without a spacer... if under stress you slam it in pretty hard, it's possible to over insert it... and cause a fail to feed or worse. A spacer stops the over insertion... you don't want to depend on the mag release catch thingy to stop it from over inserting.

If the X-Grip doesn't fit so well, just trim it a hair...

X-Grip actually works great it does exactly what is made to do and for range use it makes a world of difference. Also for backup carry mags. Remember the main purpose so you can use full size in a compact unit. So my recommendation would be by one or two they do what they're supposed to do Rowlette

^^^^ This.

They fit just fine. I'd like to see a photo of the ill-fitting ones.

Lots of companies use a version of the X-Grip. I believe XD actually includes them with their compact pistols.

The X-Grip works as designed. Before purchasing the M&P 40 FS for USPSA and IPSC, I used the M&P 40c with 4 FS mags and X-Grips. No mag drops, difficulties with reloads, or failures of any kind... except that I could certainly be a better shooter.

It makes an M&P compact a more controllable home defense weapon, give you a higher round count for your extra magazines for concealed carry, and it's a great excuse to purchase a FS M&P since you already have the extra magazines.

I use them with my 17 rounders. I have a Promag 17 rounder and the XGrip is a bit loose. I just put a black tape shim at the bottom of the mag just above the foot and the XGrip fits and works fine. To ensure proper feeding I always tap my mags when I insert to ensure proper locking...you may not get another. "Measure twice, cut once"...

X-Grip works great!

Bought a few of these for my full size mags. I did trim and sand them down just a hair for a excellent fit. I will highly recommend the X-Grip for anyone wanting to try em out.

I have a few. I use em on the range as stated above but mainly it serves a better purpose for home defense in my 9c. It was a my primary carry gun without the x grip before I got my shield(s).

It's the "more controllable" aspect that has my attention. I CC the 9c, but a full-size grip feels better in the hand.

I use the X-Grips and they work good. What I have found with mine is they fit a little loose on the magazine and will slide down the tube when sitting upside-down in the magazine pouch. I remedied that by putting a wrap of electrical tape under the X-Grip.

I love em also. I find that one layer of electrical tape above the baseplate of the mag makes the x-grip fit great and stay put. 17+1 on a compact is fantastic. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1371311450.055585.jpg
