It looks like it's inevitable that Xarelto will be in my everyday life. It also looks like it's rather expensive. So my question is, is there anyone here familiar with buying prescriptions from Canada? It's just a thought that I'm considering. Thanks

Good luck with Xarelto. The 2nd day I was on it, I started getting blood in my urine. Dr. told me to stop taking it immediately.
I've heard good things about getting prescriptions from Canada, but have never done so myself.

This was a few years ago but Xarelto had a deal going where they would supply the medication for free. Walgreens gave me the application to fill out, I was accepted and I ended up paying nothing.

Several different drugs are advertised on TV that they are available at little or no cost to you if you qualify. May be worth a try contacting Xarelto.

Good luck with that med. I just finished a month prescription for it, post-surgery. I don't know for sure if it was side effects related to that med, or the other 2 medical conditions I'm battling, but I've felt miserable since I started the course. Finished it a couple of days ago, and I'm starting to feel better now.
Cost was $45 for 30 days in SC on the United Health Care prescription plan.

My Arthritis Dr told me that none of his patients pay more than $35 per month for any of these exotic drugs. There are programs and he is tuned into them. Have a discussion with a qualified Dr.

I have been on Xarelto for about 5 years now.. no side effects and no blood clots.. those dropped me and I coded... I am still alive.. as my insurance has changed the costs have changed.. and I got dinged with one no coverage bill once.. was $15 a day.. for 30 days... I am worth it... but I totally understand the desire to find greener pastures... good luck

I had a little AFIB a few years ago so they put me on Xarelto. At the time I was also taking a baby aspirin. Woke up at 3:30 one morning drowning in blood with a bad nosebleed that couldn't be stopped until the ER docs worked their magic. They told me to quit the aspirin dose, and no problems after that. We have a pretty good insurance plan from my wife's job, so the price isn't too high.

The VA started me out on Eliquis 5.0 mcg once per day for some blood clots in my leg. Clots went away, prescription lapsed...six months later had another leg clot, went back to the VA. They put me on some kind of survey from the Wenatchee VA and had me in touch with someone to monitor my progress. She put me back on Eliquis 2.5mcg one in the a.m., one 2.5mcg at night. Been about a year, no clots, no bleeding problems. I slammed my wrist into my .68 caliber smoothbore barrel the other day, no serious bleeding, I was pleased and surprised as well. She told me I would probably be on it for life to keep the clots under control, they monitor very well, I am very happy with my VA treatment. A good friend of mine on Medicare was moaning the blues about hitting the donut hole and paying out the nose for his Eliquis...I kept my good fortune under my hat, I tend to do that with my excellent VA care. I think its rather sad that everyone can't get the kind of care us disabled vets receive but do appreciate what they do for those of us that served.

I was on Plavix years ago when it was not available in the U.S. in generic
form. 30 days worth was $580.00 at the time, Canadian price on the
generic was $220,00 for 180 days supply. I ask my doctor about the
generic and he said all Plavix generic or not was made at the same
factory in India, he could not advise me but if it were him he would take
the generic. I took it for 18 months and I guess breaking some kind of
law against taking the generic, so what.
Of course it is now generic in the U.S. but still much higher than it should
be.

I take it...have been for about 6 years.. It is expensive but my RX plan picks up the majority but still 50 ot more a month It does promote more bleeding if you cut or scrape yourself. Figure it's worth it to me. If I had no RX plan I would be on rat poison(warfarin) even though you have to have blood testing fairly regularly. Tell your doc if you really cn't afford the med..As said there are plans for some who cannot afford them...but rat poison is cheap and does work. BTW some docs don't really think about costs of drugs and...used to get... well I won't go there. I must say Xarelto does work for me. I have A Fib
