I ask permission from the forum. I would like to know the year of manufacture of my revolver. If any specialist can help me, I would be grateful, hugs from Brazil!

It is a .38 Military & Police model with a 6" barrel that very likely shipped in August 1947. As Guy mentioned, it's possible it left the factory in September, but my database indicates the 6" units were going out in August. 300 4" units in that serial range were shipped on September 5.

Grips on it are probably original, and would be very desirable were they in better condition. Many collectors would identify it as a “Post-war M&P.” That indicates that it has the old-style long action and was made for the civilian market shortly after the end of World War II. These revolvers changed to a short action design around serial number S990000. Yours apparently saw a great deal of hard use.
