Year of manufacture of Model 60 stainless

I've got this stainless Model 60 in my safe that I haven't seen for awhile. I decided to make it a carry revolver on my CCW. Got the original box and everything. Question is, what is the year of manufacture on this one? Never knew that it would be such a chore to find that info on the web. The approximate serial number is R223XXX.

This won't pinpoint year but I purchased my Model 60 new in 1969. It's serial # is Rxxx. Thus yours is likely a 70's vintage.

Serial number points to 1979.

R prefix started in 1969. 1979 started with approximately R220001.
