Year of Manufacture of my K frames

My first one is a 19-3 serial #9K67xxx

Next is a 10-7 serial #4D77xxx

Both came with rubber grips so I've been looking for originals but many don't ship to Canada.

9K67xxx is from 1976.
4D77xxx is from 1979.

Yes. Good work. However, in the xKxxxxx ranges, the 3d Edition gives approximations. Better information has become available since 2006 and I hope these will be corrected in the 4th Edition.

Here is a correct breakdown of the 9K numbers:

9K1 - 9K13999 = 1976
9K14001 - 9K83999 = 1977
9K84000 - 9K99999 = 1978

Contrary to popular opinion, S&W often did not assemble serial numbered frames in numeric order. That is because blocks of numbers were often reserved for specific models and if a particular model was in production at a given time, the blocks reserved for it would be used at that time, even though lower numbered frames, with number blocks reserved for a different model, had not yet been used.

So alcotune's Model 19-3 dates to 1977.

Update with new stocks. The ones on the M19 are from a M66.
