As in Kuhnhausaen book p56. Where would I purchase one?
Have looked in all the likely spots and have not found one. Midway says discontinued which seems odd to me.
Is there a different way of doing this? Just grab a mill smooth file and have at it? 😳
Any help, part#, link, will be appreciated.

Back in my PPC days I stretched the yoke a couple times. As I recall I just used a case trimmer to square it up as that was what I had. It was just a cheap Lee hand trimmer and it worked fine for the few times I needed to use it.

I believe Power Custom has them now but they are expensive.

If this is for a "one time" use, I can send you one of mine to borrow.

I saw the Power Custom tool, $100 is too much for a seldom used, at least for me, tool.
I appreciate the offer very much and will PM you.

Brownells no longer carries the yoke barrel facing cutter tool.

The facing cutters in the Brownells chamfering kit will work well, but they need a threaded pilot to keep the facing cutter aligned.

Another less expensive option ($6) for a cutter is the casing cutter #90110 made by LEE. These are very high quality four blade facing cutters, and work well for yoke barrel cutting and truing. Midsouth Shooters Supply has the best price on these.

The needed pilot can be machine cut from aluminum rounds, or I have made them using an appropriate sized hardwood dowel. Pilot thread would need to be 10x32 to fit in the Brownells cutter, or 10X24 for the Lee case tool. The pilot for the yoke barrel itself is .310" for the K,L, N yoke, and .235" for the common J frames.

Piece of cake. Make the yoke facing cutter yourself for less than 10 bucks. If you need help, or need to borrow one, send me a PM.

I just want to say, and am sure everyone knows, Armorer951 is very helpful on this forum.
He is generous with knowledge an occasional loan of a tool. He loaned me a spare yoke face reamer and gave me he the information to make it work. Quite the gentleman.
The job came out better than I hoped. 👍
Thanks again Carter

Wow! The PC tool is $100 now? I bought one a yeat or two ago and it was around $70. Still expensive but I dont like using the shims, just me. So I bought that and a stretcher and the inside reamer and Ive used all 3 3 times one 3 different guns that are shot alot.

I don't recall having to make anything when I used the Lee Case Trimmer. I only had case length gauges for 257 Roberts and 30/06 so the 30/06 must be what I used as a pilot on the yoke barrel.
