Looking to have a more visable rear sight on my mod. 65. American Handgunner had ad for a small fixed white outline sight that was machined into the rear notch of fixed J/K frames. I thought it was Hamilton Bowen doing this, but the website shows nothing on enhanced rear sight mods for fixed sight S&W's. Have I got the wrong gunsmith?

Greetings, yoopcampr, and welcome to the forum. :)

Bowen Custom indeed used to offer this modification -- though certainly any good gunsmith set up for metalwork can. I notice, though, that the package that Bowen once offered that included this rear site isn't on their web page anymore.

I'd contact them and ask -- it was a good looking and functional improvement over trench sights.

Also, you'll probably get more and faster responses to questions if you choose a thread title describing the subject matter. ;)

Bowen still has the sight I want-Woo Hoo! They are too backlogged to offer the installation. They recommended I ask Cylinder & Slide if they can install, which I did. Waiting to hear back. My eyes are going downhill 'n I need as good a sight picture as I can get as back-up to the Lasergrips.

Cylinder and Slide is top notch, but depending on where you are, there might be someone near enough to you that you won't have to pay shipping costs or wait a while.

Is that sight still on Bowen's website somewhere? I can't seem to find it when I look. There used to be a conversion done on small frame Smiths (by King, maybe??) that put a higher visibility blade in them. I'd really love to find somebody doing those for CCW.
