.....and they're all Glocks. Yep. I've never owned or fired one, but am curious. Pick one and if you like, state your reasons why. Thanks :o

I've fired a couple of different Glocks. The 19 fit my hand really well. It had a worked trigger and Trijicon sights. I ripped a ragged hole at 10 yards. That surprised me.

But a handgun should be made of metal & it should have a hammer.

Just my worthless opinion but I think they're overpriced for what they are and we probably would never have heard of St. Gaston of Polymer if it weren't for the free blitz of publicity they got when doofus lawmakers thought they couldn't be detected by metal detectors.

Kind of hard to quantify - I've owned at least 7 Glocks and sold/traded off 6 of them (including all on your list). The only one that I let go that I now which wish I had held on to was the 19.

Rat feathers! I should never have opened this thread. Now I have to disinfect my computer to get the G word off my hard drive.

Pick a Glock if it pleases you. They may be better than everything I own but I don't care. They're just to modern for my taste.

I'll leave it to the forum's numerous LEOs who have extensive experience with them to comment on specific G models.

:) I voted for the M19. I have had 3 or 4 Glocks and sold them all. I just don't like them and they are butt ugly. Don

If it weren’t for option 4 I would have voted for the 19. I own a 17 and while I will admit that my amateur torture testing, lack of cleaning, loaning it out to friends (never a good idea for various reasons…), and the fact that mine is a older second gen model, the fact it that I would still trust my life to it. That being said, I hate the dang thing. Besides the it’s ugly and half plastic issues, I hate the rounded 2x4 grip, the double stack mag is too fat compared to others with the same or better ammo capacity, I have dinged up plastic sights, and the grip angle combined with that fat grip makes it hard for me to shoot well. But the thing is still in my nightstand on one side. It’s slam full of Federal hollow points that I know it feeds like it’s starving and if I had to surrender it after using it to shoot some jerkyboy home invader it wouldn’t make me cry if the cops didn’t handle nice in the evidence locker and it came home scuffed up. I jokingly refer to it as “Glock Perfection” for that one and only point. Given a real option I would be checking out either the new S&W M&P’s or the new Ruger SR9/SR40 if you are looking for a poly double stack. If buying American is a big whoop to you then you might also check out the CZ line up and the FNH FNX or even the Beretta Storm models. If you are just looking for cheap and reliable then look no further than the Ruger P95. If you want reliable but moderately priced then I would be looking at the M&P. If you are looking at a .40 then rent both a Ruger SR40 that is called the softest shooting .40 on the market or the M&P .40 that is getting nothing but rave reviews. You could even try the S&W Sigma or SD. You may be on the side that says the trigger isn’t a big deal and they both have outstanding ergonomics. Or if you are a Glock fan you may already have your mind made up and are just curious how many people agree with you.

Actually, I already own an M&P 40 (one of the first ones made) and like it very much. I also agree that Ruger has some nice guns in the SR series.

I voted for the Glock 19, mostly because it's the only one I've ever fired. My wife has one and she likes it a lot. I've shot it, and it's a good, if somewhat boring gun.

For half the price, I'd just as soon have a Sigma (and do). Those are boring too, but are a lot less expensive.

Option 4

I know that people like all the plastic. I just can't do it - to old school. Sorry, steel only for me.

It depends upon what you plan to do with it.

If you're going to just shoot it, or open carry it, I'd recommend the Glock 22 (I have one). When I tried carrying it concealed OWB, no matter what I did, it seemed to stick out of the bottom of whatever sweat shirt of sweater I wore. I can ONLY carry it IWB.

If you're going to carry it concealed, I'd recommend the Glock 19 or Glock 23.

My Glock 22 has quite a bit of muzzle whip with certain loads. When I was looking for larger capacity CCW auto, I had to choose between 2nd Gen Glock 19s and 23s from Summit. Based on my experience with the Glock 22, I picked a Glock 19, with which I've been very happy. If I had it to do again, I'd have gotten a Glock 23. Since I got my Glock 19, I've learned that it's quite popular to buy Glock 22s/23s and buy an extra 9x19mm barrel for them. When a friend was making the same choice, I advised him to go with the Glock 23 and an extra barrel. He's been extremely happy with it.

I’m just always curious how many people test the waters by conducting their own little social experiments. I feel the same way when I see some hot little remark about Sigma’s. Poof, instant ten pages of posts. That may be closer to web trolling. But I did say I would go with the 19, and I admitted to owning and keeping at my side a 17. So please don’t think I’m being a poindexter. Sometimes I just lack tact. Apologies if I offended you.

Yeah. I'm a troll. :p

I've been coming here since 2003 asking about guns I have no experience with.

I chose none of the above since the poll lacked a Glock 21 option.
I'd take a 21 on the cheap as a project gun so as to tighten up the sear disconnect issue and convert to 400 corbon ;)

I sold my Glock 27 because I traded into a M&P 40C. I like them both the same. Glock was a couple oz lighter, both shoot good. I've got a Glock 45 acp compact but I forget the model #. I like it very well.
