I voted for the Glock 19. Before purchasing my M&P9, I went to the local gun range and rented both the M&P9 and the G17. After shooting them side for side time after time, I thought the M&P9 was better -- but not so much better that the advantage was overwhelming. I bought the M&P9 for two reasons. First, I couldn't get used to the grip on the G17. Second, I wanted an American gun.

Since that day, I've researched a little more closely and realized that the G19 would have been a slightly better competitor for the M&P9, as it sits between the M&P9 and the M&P9c. If you made me choose a Glock, that would be it, even though it's been many years since I shot a 19.

I think I'll surf on over to the Ford Truck forum and start a poll:

Poll Question: What's the best model Chevy Truck?

1. Silverado
2. Avalanche
3. Colorado

(PS - the best self defense concealed carry handgun ever made is the Glock 23 - IMHO)

You left out "None of the above"

I have owned Glocks. I do not now. I could never get used to the feel of the grip and I could never bring one of them up to where I was on-target without adjustment of my grip. So, I opted to give them to my sons and I remain a wheel-gun person.

BTW, I voted none......

.....and they're all Glocks. Yep. I've never owned or fired one, but am curious. Pick one and if you like, state your reasons why. Thanks :o

Sir, I've never owned one, either, but I've shot a few. While they're a little weird, I'm warming up to them.

I've been eyeing G19s for several years now and may yet buy one. It seems to be the "best of breed" in Glock's line, and Glock's 9s don't seem to blow up very often, unlike their .40s. The .40 S&W doesn't do much for me, anyway--if the 9 isn't enough, I'd rather step up to a .45.

Regarding Glocks generally, I like the low bore line and that the trigger pull is the same from the first shot to the last. I like the utilitarianism and lack of "foo-foo." Their reliability is good, and parts/accessories are widely available. The new Gen 4s fit my hand pretty well, despite my stubby fingers. The grip angle that so many people gripe about is very similar to a Smith revolver with target stocks. IMHO there's a lot to like about Glocks.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

I voted for the model 19 although I don't have one. My 23 is my truck gun because it will work regardless of how dirty it gets. I have found all of my glocks to be extremely accurate but I don't like the triggers. My 23 is an uncomfortable gun to shoot, but like I said, it is very accurate. The 9mm models are the most pleasant shooters, for me, however, the 20 is a lot of fun also.

I’ve taken my liberal, feminist, social worker, 5’ 4” 130 lbs wife to two Clint Smith (Thunder Ranch) classes in Lincoln City Oregon. It rained, a lot, and was muddy. We both shot G22’s at both classes without a Malf.

I own two Wilson Combat 1911’s. The Mrs. could have chosen the $3000 dollar 1911’s. She’s a Glock true believer. There’s a lesson in there somewhere.

I btw have done a Thunder Ranch class with one of my 1911’s without a Malf too though.

Glock polymer has magical properties, it calms ones jitters, makes for good marksmanship, can sooth aching joints and promotes overall good health. Everyone should have at least one Glock. We have four in our family, all 9mms.

Of your options, I went with the Glock 23. I chose one over the Glock 22 as a duty weapon. More power that the 9mm with only two less rounds. There's no significant accuracy difference between it and the 22. For my body it conceals a little better than the 22.
