I just heard that You Tube is banning most gun videos starting in April. They are dangerous, offensive, and may show someone how to do illegal things. So if you are looking for how to take down that weird old gun you just got for cleaning, you need to find a better way. And of course videos on general safety are far too dangerous for the general public. So I went to You Tube and did a few searches for other videos that would be entertaining and informative:

How to cook meth
How to make bombs
How to pick up hookers
ISIS beheading videos
Satanic black mass

Seems that these videos all meet community guidelines.

I'm not sure this is entirely a bad thing. There are millions of videos on YouTube showing idiots doing idiotic things with and to guns.

And I reckon that's enough of that for now...y'all get the idea, don't you? It's yahoos like these guys give us all a bad name and throw gas on the anti-gun fire.

Just saw that on tv tonite.... no more YouTube gun assembly or disassembly videos.

Glad I watched that broomhandle video last week!

2 weeks ago I had jury duty at Cuyahoga(Cleveland) County Justice Center. Had my laptop to pass the time, their WiFi blocked all gun related sites.

You Tube Hate Speech Policy

I would argue that the above You Tube policy on hate speech should ban videos inciting hatred against people who exercise their civil rights . . . including those who exercise their rights under the Second Amendment

Although starting up something new probably costs a whopping big amount it could be an opportunity but we shall see.

My first thought was NRATV could grow and become a home to many although let Youtube keep the idiots with guns videos. I suspect Youtube may let those stay since they serve the greater purpose in how they portray gun owners and users. Or purport to portray...

What will Hollywood do? They can't survive without guns and violence in their movies? I don't understand why anyone goes to their movies anyway.( Uhhhh, mostly younger people! ) Can you say Hypocrite ? Ban all movies where anyone get shot!

Here is the actual . current YouTube policy.

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7667605?hl=en

Policies on content featuring firearms

YouTube prohibits certain kinds of content featuring firearms. Specifically, we don’t allow content that:

  • Intends to sell firearms or certain firearms accessories through direct sales (e.g., private sales by individuals) or links to sites that sell these items. These accessories include but may not be limited to accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire or convert a firearm to automatic fire (e.g., bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop-in auto sears, conversion kits), and high capacity magazines (i.e., magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds).
  • Provides instructions on manufacturing a firearm, ammunition, high capacity magazine, homemade silencers/suppressors, or certain firearms accessories such as those listed above. This also includes instructions on how to convert a firearm to automatic or simulated automatic firing capabilities.
  • Shows users how to install the above-mentioned accessories or modifications.
Report content that violates this policy

You can report videos that you believe violate this policy by flagging the video.

Here is one persons interpretation of it all.

Wow, Youtube has really helped me a lot with some gunsmithing items over the years. I just put a new hammer on my Browning High Power, there were 3 or 4 videos I looked at and it would have been a real bear without the videos.

YouTube is owned by Google.
I heard it was just going to be the "illegal" useless ones like "how to" make guns "run fast", "full auto" and those that "sale guns" videos, the educational, instructional videos aren't at risk, but I "hope" I heard correctly. Who needs to know how to easily make a Glock full auto! I mean, geeze if your that stupid anyway you shouldn't be around firearms to begin with.
