Your right, my typo, it would be extremely hard getting those shock abs. into a 1 inch tube.
as far as the tape, if you put a single layer of electro tape around the barrel where the shock abs. touch the barrel it makes a very tight fit. You will have to twist it on since it is rubber against rubber.![]()
If you use aluminum make sure it doesn't come into contact with any steel on your gun as it will pit the steel-don't ask me how I know thisIm gonna try to use an aluminum tube also. Anyone know a good way to paint aluminum?
After reading several threads regarding fake suppressors and noticing just how cool they look on the poster's rifles, I decided what the hell, I'm gonna make one for my Anchutz Model 54. Should I use schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC? I'm also thinking of using high temperature flat black bar b que paint for durability but it only comes in flat black which will not look that good against the blue barrel. Would it be OK to use a lower grade of spray paint so I can get the colors to match up or should I just bite the bullet and explain to those who ask that suppressors are supposed to be flat black? SInce I use a scope on this rifle, rather than the open sights, I will probably grind off the front sight rather than try to cut the PVC to fit around it.
Well, I've got my project for the weekend now it's off to Lowe's.
Good thing ya had time for PVC pipe and shock absorber bushings tho... or we wouldnt be having such fun.I dont have the time for such childishness.
