Why did you chose your Avatar?

I just posted on another thread about my "Handle".

So, why not some feedback on your Avatar.

Mine is a badge worn on our uniforms while in the US Army in a Cold War Signal Corp battalion in Germany attached to NATO. One company French, one German, two American. Our vehicles were Mercedes Benz Unimog military trucks, English Land Rover Jeeps and French Peugeot Vans. The unit was part of CENTAG Central Army Group.

Our weapons were standard M14s and 1911s.

I’m also a long time gear head ( AKA car guy) and have noticed there are a lot of car guys on here.

So many pictures of great guns being used I thought I would do something different.

As of the date this was posted the car is a 07 Atomic Orange Z06 Corvette.

"We shoot horses". My avatar is the most common view that people had of me at work.

Mine is the 'Come and Take It' Flag.

The flag came to be after the residents of the small town of Gonzales,TX defied Santa Anna's troops who were trying to seize their locally owned cannon (they successfully hid their cannon in a river).

As a boy, I really liked reading Elmer Keith. Still do. But it was in my childhood that his writing made the biggest impression, all those tales of the early 20th century in the American West, hunting, firearms and ammunition development, his colorful stories fascinated me.

The Keith headstamped .44 Mag brass in my avatar was made by Starline for Midway back in the early '90s. Still have 100 pcs of it.

I dont have one. I notice I can read most of the ones of you that replied. However the vast majority of the other ones I see on this site are too small for me to make out and I seldom give a second look or wonder about any of them. Is there a way to enlarge them easily without choosing them as a background? I wonder how many would marvel over my night watchmens badge my company gave me. After all, its got #1 on it!

I had a Japanese man hole cover for a couple of years but nobody knew what it was or commented on it so I switched to a pic of my cat ( who sadly is no longer with us and very much missed by at least me)
