Thought I should start a new thread, rather than post this in the Teen Hearthrob one...
Who is your favorite MODERN actress?
Overall, I think I'll vote for Rachel Blakely, seen in the link. Watch the video all the way through. It's best seen if you click to get the larger format, and the song was well chosen. (If the song stalls, restart the video; it usually plays fine.)
Is the holster she's wearing at point 3:07 a Bianchi Model 16? I have one of those. It may be an Aussie copy. I read somewhere that Bianchi shipped the patterns and tooling for many of their older models to Australia...
One of our members compared Rachel to Nancy Kerrigan, and I see some resemblance.
She's half-American, and her American father is the guy with her at mark 3:58.
This video has clips from several of her roles, from, "The Lost World" (most), "Mortified", and, "Tales of the South Seas." The latter two series weren't seen here, but can be viewed on YouTube.
Rachel is a good actress, but I gave her added points for an earthy sensuality and her warm heart. She once took time off from, "Mortified" to visit an American fan, who was visiting in Australia, and who had broken his neck in a swimming accident. Rachel drove about 60 miles to see him in the hospital in Brisbane, to give him a kiss (which he said began his full recovery) and to show him personal photos from her role in,"The Lost World."
And she DID NOT alert the media, for a "photo opportunity"!
Rachel also got along fine with her female co-stars on, "The Lost World", Jennifer O'Dell and Lara Cox, both of whom are also nice ladies and very easy on the male eye. They had none of the jealousy often seen on other sets.
Technically, Meryl Streep and a few others may be better actresses, but lack Rachel's warmth and reality. She's better looking, too, although I think she is now retired, at 41. She has two children by her partner, who was the stunt director on. "The Lost World." I understand that they have a lovely home in Queensland.
Normally, I prefer blondes, but Rachel Blakely has made an impression on me. She is not only a good actress; she has human qualities that all of us can admire. I wish that she'd managed to get some really major roles.
There are many videos about her,and she has a very loyal fan base. The video was made by two Czech girls. I think it is one of the better ones devoted only to her. (Most such tributes also include Jen and somtimes, Lara from, "The Lost World."

P.S. Can someone with the requisite skills find the FHM photo of Rachel in a little brown bikini, kneeling next to Jen O'Dell, and post that? It's one of the absolute worst photos that I've ever seen of Jen, but Rachel looks terrific. She has a really hot body! Because she wore more clothing on, "The Lost World", most never realized that she has a better figure than Jen does, which is saying something!
