Your next 4???

Had a 6" model 28 bought new in 1978.Traded for a 657 3" and really don't regret the trade but I really want another 28.Passed on a really nice 5"29 classic about 7 years ago and have almost pulled a hamstring
kicking myself over that one cause when I do find another one it sure ain't gonna be no $425.00 like that one was.Beyond that not really sure.

The guns I am primarily looking for at this point include:

1) a 6.5" Model 24-3 (to replace the one I bought new, but was stolen)
2) a Model 29-2 (or earlier) with 8 3/8" barrel, nickel or blue
3) a K-22 (or Model 17) with 8 3/8" barrel
4) not a S&W, but I am in need of an 8" Python to round out that sector

Of course, my major problem in acquiring the foregoing is relatively scarcity, along with the fact that my favorite LGS frequently gets something in that just strikes my fancy, and I must have it! At present, they are tempting me with a first-year Ruger Blackhawk Convertible (Old Model, unmodified) in .45 Colt with the auxiliary .45ACP cylinder, NIB and unfired. We haven't yet come up with a price, but it may end up in my hot little hands. The only problem is the unfired bit, I hate not shooting my guns (especially since I had a lot of unfired, NIB guns that were stolen a few years ago, and my biggest regret, other than having lost them, is that I did not get to shoot them). They also just took in a very nice (98% or better) 28-2 with a 6" barrel that is calling my name, but it won't be available for a couple of weeks (Sheriff's s/n clearing period). You never know what I'll buy next, only that I will buy more.

Id like to get another 48, a 4 inch 617 , looking to replace the 44-40 wagon train edition I use to have and i think ill pick up a 40 M&P compact.

Since reading this forum, I've been thinking of the Smiths that I stupidly let go back in the mid to late seventys. If the funds are available this is the list:

1. 27-2 with 5" barrel
2. 60 38 spec with a 3 " barrel.
3. 57-2 4" barrel
4. 686 6" barrel
