Just caught my eye @ the "Worlds Foremost Outfitter", S&W Model 5946TSW w\ rail; (2) 15 round magazines, original case, & trigger lock...95%+ condition Serial #TDS61XX (anyone know how old?)....for $499 less 10% NRA discount this weekend, makes it out the door @ $477 w/ tax.
Would anyone try to conceal carry, or too big? I do not prefer IWB as my pants are a bit tight already ;).

They also had a Model 469 (much smaller) for $385 out the door.

thanks!

If you're talking Cabela's, I've always gotten them to nock off at least $50 off the price of used guns. Try getting at least $25 off then do the NRA discount.

I'm amazed you can get Cabela's to take anything off the price. I tried to get them to come down on a gun recently, and they wouldn't budge, couldn't even get them to throw in a spare mag. Anyways, if you can get them down a few $$$ then it will make it a reasonable deal with all that it includes.

IMHO, it's worth it. Double-Action-Only isn't for everyone though but if you're a revolver fan, you'll have no issues. I recently got one after looking for some time and I'm glad to have it.

It would make a great range gun but for concealed carry it may be a bit large as well as heavy. I'm sure folks have done it and pulled it off but I could think of many better choices for that role.

I can't find TDS prefix in the SCSW 3rd Edition.

If you decide to get it, please share some pics with us.

This is just a regular S&W #5946, box, papers, three fifteen round magazines I gave $265.00 for, including tax, a few months ago. It is heavy, about 38 ounces empty. Not a true DAO pistol, it is actually 1/2 cocked once the slide is worked, much like a Glock is. There is no repeat trigger pull.

This is a fine handgun. It is very accurate, low recoiling, and heavy enough to be a weapon even when empty. I like mine alot.

Summit Gun Brokers has 4006TSWs & 4003TSWs going for less than $350, so no, I would not say it is a good deal.

Dave, Just bought a Model 5946TSW two months ago with case, mags, etc.. Great pistol-very accurate. Almost new..shot just a few times. I am selling it to purchase a competition pistol I want. If interested...email me.

I own a 4046, not the TSW model. It is a fine gun. I have carried it a few times. It is heavy but with a decent belt and holster I found it was comfortable for about 8 hours. After that I was happy to take it off.

I also own, and carry a 3913 and a 457S. Those guns are wonderful CCWs. If you really want a 3913 just buy one. They are available and the prices are usually ok considering the terrific weapon that it is.

Bill
