Yup. Someone went there. (And it wasn't me.)

If you're blue and you don't know where to go to, why don't you go where fashion sits...

That's funny! I'll bet a lot of our younger members will have to really exercise their google-foo to decipher that one. :D

If I say any more, I would cross the Forum's Red Line, so to speak. :D

Anyone who remembers the "Berlin" wall might get it, but I won't "Taco" 'bout the punchline any further. ;)

Edit: Ok, seriously... I really need to stop...

I never had heard that song.
I used my masterful google-fu and found the video. :(

Thanks a lot. Now I have to know that song exists.

:D

What - Puttin' on the Ritz? Only Taco I've ever heard of is Mexican food, but Fred Astaire sang it in Blue Skies. Irving Berlin song, from the late 20s.

And then there was Freed-rick Fraunk-in-steen and "The Creature", doing it in Young Frankenstein.

Can I have your autograph?

I tried giving it to you, but now I have an illegible scribble on my monitor. :(

:D

Glad to be of service. ;) If it's any small consolation, the missus hates it when I give her earworms, also.

Taco was an Indonesian-born Electronica-Pop artist from the 80's. His remake brought an Irving Berlin classic to the Top 40 during its heyday. (Ironically, I think it was his only American Top 40 hit...)

Bonus points for the nod to Blue Skies and Young Frankenstein. :D

Also, I'm not proud to admit I confuse Irving Berlin and Cole Porter ALL THE TIME... :o

I was just looking up Irving Berlin's "Puttin' On The Ritz" the other day. You may not know this, but the original 1930 film/stage presentation was about black people.

Youtube it and listen to the lyrics carefully.

Op, I wish you also knew about the animated version putin and Ritz Crackers. Twas hilarious...Putin riding the ''saw'' blades part of a Ritz.
