One of the local wal-marts around here moved all the ammo to a smaller lock case and in the big ammo and gun case they moved fishing equipment in its place. Yep $30 reels behind lock and key.
Walmart here has nothing on its shelves. They got in one 15-22 and it lasted an hour. Went into the Scheels and found limited ammo but a bunch of Ruger 10/22s and 4 15-22s. Too bad but I'm good for 22 rifles.
It's pretty much the same story here, too. I've given up on Walmart. Last time I checked, they didn't have anything I wanted or needed.
Checked the local gun stores today...nothing. Was at a Cabelas an hour and a half away a little while back. Nothing much there to write home about either.
I'm with Iggy. Got enough on hand until the neighbors call the Fire Marshal.
I was a little concerned that I only had a few hundred rounds of 22s until I started rooting around in my stuff and found 3-4000 more.Ive kept a good supply of center fire for years so I wasn't worried about that.Discovered I have about 10k primers,10-12 lbs of powder,3k bullets and about 70 lbs of shot.I should be good for awhile.
usually i don't do walmart. monday i was in dsm for some medical stuff and stoped at the scheels store. i have never seen that store so empty in the ammo, reloading, and handgun dept. the only thing they had very many of was kimber autos. they are sending a team to the tulsa show in april with the orders to buy. both ammo and reloading supplies and guns.
It's really putting the hurt on my LGS because they have almost nothing to sell. No EBR's, few handguns, no ammo, primers or projectiles. They have some powder but without the other components I doubt they are selling much of that either...
Even with the 2008 frenzy, there was a lot more ammo than seems to be available now. I don't ever rememeber no one having .22lr. Even the CMP is quoting a 6-12 month wait for .22lr.
Last night I ordered three 50-rd boxes of Win 357 mag ammo from Midway. The ammo was in stock at that time. I could have ordered more but just wanted to have a little for a 357 Blackhawk I recently bought but will probably shoot very little. It was the only 357 mag loading Midway had excepting a few of the 2$ - 3$ per cartridge speciality rounds.
This morning around 11:00 AM I walked into Walmarts and saw one 100-rd box of Rem 357 mag in the ammo case and bought it as well.
Ammo is available for those who look hard enough. Of course some people don't have the time to devote to this.
