Stamped or Fabricated

My Snapper has a "drink" holder I think I will install a Bimini Top and a water mister. Feel like I am on the boat.:)

FIRST, THANKS to all for the feedback to date. I found that the Big Box stores do have a lot of overlap these days at the entry level "pro-sumer" ZTR mowers. I've shopped both.

If you recall, I "stumped" my JD a few weeks ago. After 2 new spindles and blades and the "precision" use of 1, 4, and 15 pound persuaders over the course of multiple "alignments", I've got the deck/spindle alignment close but I can't get it "just right". It's still leaving slight stair steps as I can't get both blades exactly in the same plane. It's amazing what 1/16" variance/tilt between the 2 x 21" blade planes means in the cut. A new deck is more than I want to put into the JD. It's now "good enough" to use the "vacuum" attachment in the fall and it will still pull the aerator and the broadcast spreader.

My research led me to 3 mowers at the <$3K price point and I've called two local repair places to make sure they are serviceable. I gave them the list of mowers I was considering and both said they are good choices at my price point for my lawn/intended use. Between the two facilities, they are authorized service centers for all three and parts were available.

Anyone here have any experience with this mower? I'm probably going to pick one up today! Both places told me this deck assembly is rugged and BOTH told me that what I did to my entry level JD would have caused the same damage regardless of stamped or fabricated, unless I go to the twice the price or more mowers with 7 or better gauge steel.

HUSQVARNA RZ46i - Zero turn mowers

I was quoted $3400.00 for the 48", with the fabricated lifetime warrantee deck...JIM..........

That's tempting, which 48, they have multiple??? I looked at the Husqvarna site and they list the same warranty on the 48's I looked at. Who is providing the warranty????

I can get the RZ46i for $2400 plus tax locally and Husqvarna has a $100 rebate that ends this weekend. Only a 3 year warranty.

Had many of those that I mowed around, They cost money sitting and using.

When it became more work and expense than fun it was time to quit. Now if I can only do that with guns;)

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HELPED ME IN MY PURCHASE!

I bought the Husqvarna RZ46i on 7/4/14. Got a great price match deal at a big box along with a rebate from Husqvarna ("supply" stores would not price match). Got it delivered for free within 2 days and even on a Sunday!

So far it's a great machine and is a LOT faster than my old JD tractor style.

I know many advised against a big box purchase but a lot has changed in the past few years (IMO). I shopped both the big box and the lawn/garden supply outlets. In the price range I shopped, they both had pretty much the same models and offerings.

Perhaps the one difference would have been setup. From the big box they take the mower from the crate, install the misc parts (seat, ...) and deliver. The factory does adjust the mower before shipping but I found I did need to adjust the mower deck. I'd bet if I had spent the extra couple hundred at the supply store, it would have been a bit more carefully prepped but I don't know that. Also, all outlets used/named the same people for service and maintenance.

If I were stepping into the "twice the price" industrial models, I may have thought otherwise.

There is nothing better than planning out, shopping and finally purchasing that shiny new lawn mower. But remember this-the first time you pack the wheel treads with dog ****, spill gas while refueling and get that thin layer of grass dust on it, the bloom is off the rose and it's just that ^*&% lawn mower. ;)
