Can't tell you where I saw them (against the rules) but total price for a single tray of SPP is $94.98. I can buy 6 boxes (300 rounds) of 9mm ammo for the same price. Not sure how many he sells at that price but, at that price I imagine he doesn't have to sell very many.

At the height of the pandemic lock down. I watched 1000 spp end an auction for over $1500 with 94 bids and over 20 different bidder. Where’s a fool there’s his money.

Are you saying they want $95 for only 100 primers? That would be high for 1,000 primers these days. wow!

If supply doesn't pick up this idiocy will continue.
Once it does these turkeys may have to face the music.
Capitalism is the most efficient form of economy but it does have strict rules and forces.
Think we'd be better off under any other form of economy?
Try buying primers in Venezuela, Cuba, or Zimbabwe.
I would, however, like to know where the primers they are supposedly churning out 24/7 ARE really going.
Does the IRS really need millions of rounds of ammo?
Something is happening here we are not being told about.

Shopping for primers these days aint easy . Prices have been running between 7.5 cents to 15 cents depending on make , size etc. Large Rifle primers seem to be the least available . I check each morning to see where & what's available .

Personally, I have an ample primer supply to last me for a long time. But I have to wonder what is going on with domestic primer manufacturing. And also why aren’t we being flooded with imported primers? There are many primer manufacturers all over the world, so why aren’t a lot more foreign primers getting here?

I lent my friend 5000 CCI SP Over a year and a half ago. He just replaced them with Federal SP at about $95 per 1000. At that vendor they are the same price as CCI. I need the federal primers for my revolvers. I told him I would’ve paid an up charge for the federal if there was one

Primer Prices ???

Was at one of my local gun stores last Thursday. This store has not had much in the way of powder or primers for the last couple of years. (But, they have all the bullets and once fired brass in most rifle and pistol calibers that you can use?) Now, they have just about any primer that you want, in a number of brands, from standard to magnum to match, but the prices!!! A few kinds are as low as $15/100, but the average is $20+ per 100, with match going for $30 to $35 per 100. I guess they think they can sell them at those prices. If you wait the local Sportsman's Warehouse has most types come in with a limit of 200 per day for $5 to $6 per 100. Who knows?

I picked up 10K sp and sr primers at a local gunshow last weekend for $55/K. I was first in the door and first at his table. He was sold out when I was done 2 minutes after the show opened. With what I have squirreled away, I should be good for the rest of my life.

My LGS just called me today--they got Federal GMMatch small pistol primers in at $850/5K. I almost dropped the phone when I heard the price, and I know they don't gouge!

At that price, bulk packed 9mm at the same shop is selling for about what components would cost--33 cents per round loaded vs 17 cents for a primer, 10-12 cents for a FMJ bullet and a nickel +/- for powder.

Fortunately, I've got enough to last a while and I can wait for the next gun show or estate sale.

Of the 4K primers I have purchased in the past 2 years, I found 1K boxes of magnum LRP twice at under $100 each time. All primers were in-store, so no shipping or hazmat.

That's the best price I've heard since before early 2020.

I know it has to be dependent upon how much a person shoots but when yall say you have enough primers to last "a long time" or "the rest of my life" how many is that? What do you consider enough? Im trying to figure out if I have enough. I have been shooting alot the past 3 years and maybe I need to slow my roll a bit.

Hard to figure, even harder if you're younger. I pick a time frame I think is reasonable to get through a shortage. Say 5 years. We're what...half way through that this time? I shoot around 5,000 rounds a year so I'd need 25,000 primers. Then get your LPP/SPP mix right. I shoot more SPP so I figure 15,000 SPP to 10,000 LPP.

Keep in mind these are hazardous materials you're storing. I don't want 100,000 primers in my house.
