All carbohydrates cause inflammation in the body. A terrific source of information is Dr. Ken Berry on youtube.
Foods that contain oxalates cause glass hard, crystal shaped structures to accumulate all over the body, and particularly in joints. 80-95% of kidney stones consist of calcium oxalate. They also prevent the absorption of calcium. There's a long list of common foods that contain this toxic substance, it would be quicker to look them up than for me to list them here. Sally Norton, also on youtube, is an expert on oxalates.
Statins: Recent studies show statins reduce the absolute risk of dying from a myocardial event by 0.4%, and from a stoke by 1.3%. This is a tiny amount of benefit for a drug which has many potentially serious side affects. Doctors will give you the relative benefits of a statin, which is around 38%. That sounds pretty good, but guess where they get that number from... the pharmaceutical companies. The ones making billions off dangerous meds that give you an actual 1.3% benefit at most. A quick google or youtube search can point you to this info. This info does not apply if you've already had an event. In that case a statin may have a higher absolute benefit.
Don't get me going on how every cell in your body needs cholesterol, and how your hormones are made from it. Or, that dietary cholesterol has no correlation to cholesterol in your bloodstream. The paradigm surrounding cholesterol is changing fast.
