I purchased a Barska 20-60X spotting scope, must have been less $100.
I took it to a 500 yard rifle match and compared against my 20-60X Pentax. The Pentax with eye piece was about $1K.
When zoomed, the edges of the Barska field of view were blurry. When I looked at the target bull, with the Barska I could see the color difference between the target pasters and the black bull. With the Pentax, I could see white edges on the black pasters. Overall the image in the Barska was a bit green.
I gave that Barska away, but really , for the money, it was a deal.
For $65.00 more, this Celestron was much better optically
I remember in the 1970's, $100 Tasco spotting scopes did not have the ability to pick up 22 bullet holes at 100 yards. The $100 Tasco scope was a cheap scope at the time, you could buy them in the Sporting Goods section of K Mart. We have come a long way in optics.
