Advantages of 681 over 686?

To me the 681 always looks like a red headed stepchild with no teeth.......In others words butt ugly.......I wouldn't trade my 686 for a dozen of them.

When 413Maxwedge mentioned his dream gun was a 2.5" 681, I can't resist send pics of my dream gun. A 681 with a 686 Mountain Gun barrel shorted and then rebored and rifled to shoot 44 specials. Five shot titanium cylinder, custom made by Jim Stroh, with Roy Fishpaw grips. This in my dream gun to carry around our "estate".
