Default Remington 9mm 115 gr. FMJ (green box) vs. Winchester 115 gr. (white box)

I'm not wanting to beat a dead horse here, if this has been discussed before, let me know & I'll research it better. Looking for opinions as to preference for range ammo in 3rd Gen. S&W 9mm.

I have used both without problems. Would go with whatever works 100% and is cheaper.

Tried the Remington green box 115 grain stuff in my CS-9. Had a few time when slide would not return all the way. Tried Winchester Defend and nary a hiccup. Gun only has maybe 200 hundreds through it.

Used both years ago with good results.

Just that there are many others today that have 115 gr FMJ at a
much lower price than Rem, or Win. in my area.

They work.

Right now I would use any other brand besides Remington. I have had issues with both their guns and ammo.

I like the Remington better than the Winchester (which I think is dirtier).

I am not sure of what information you are expecting. 115 grain FMJ 9mm ammo is pretty much identical the world around. I've fired lots of different brands, civilian and military, never could tell any difference. 6 months ago I bought three buckets of Remington 9mm when the rebate was in effect, seems to work perfectly in my 9mm pistols. It's all gone now. Two weeks ago I fired 100 rounds of Wolf steel case from Wal-Mart, it worked fine also. I'd go for whichever brand is the least expensive. Just like I buy gasoline and beer.

Have shot, and continue to shoot, a lot of both, no issues, no concerns.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, just looking for some opinions. Winchester & Remington ammo described in the first post is what's commonly available as target ammo around here (Farm & Fleet). Either is occasionally on sale for $11.50 for a box of 50.

I'd get a box of each and shoot them from a benchrest at 25yds. and go with the one that was most accurate and shot closest to point of aim. Being FMJ, they both should feed fine.

For my shooting style, I tend to prefer 124 gr as it usually shoots on the sights better. My favorite range ammo (and frequent non-urban carry load) is Winchester's 9mm NATO 124 gr (+P'ish).

I have used both with no trouble at all. Both function well in my Beretta 92. But don't expect great accuracy. Not to say that they are inaccurate but they are adequate for practice use. Use a better quality ammo for accuracy testing..

I have to agree with Aircrewman regarding accuracy. I seldom shoot anything but my handloads, but I've never found any factory ammo, whether for rifle or handgun, loaded with a FMJ bullet that was very accurate.
