When it comes to 9mm ammo, I have never seen anything other than 115gr ammo at Walmart except for self defense ammo. Today I Saw this 124gr NATO ammo in 150 round bulk packs. The price was pretty decent at $27.64. I reload 9mm and have a bunch so I passed on it. I did however get a 550rd bulk pack of Federal 22 ammo. The price if $19.94 was just too good to pass up. Didnt think I would ever see 22 ammo for under 4 cents
per round. They are copper washed 36gr bullets

I reload with 124 and sometimes 147 grain bullets. Don't think I have ever loaded 115gr except for a few XTPs. My Shield shoots low with 115gr ammo but like I said, never have seen it at Walmart

I agree with Richard, Remington Thunderbolt is far from my favorite 22LR ammo. It's cheap, it may or may not go "bang" on the first strike, and it's dirty.

Oh, and it appears my local Walmart carries shotgun shells, pellets, and BB's, but not pistol or rifle ammunition.

We used to call Thunderbolt “Blunderbolt”. Accuracy was terrible plus a number of duds that wouldn’t go off.

I’ve had really good luck with the thunderbolt. It feeds great. WWB is the worst I’ve used. About 50 in a box either deformed, empty shell or just didn’t go off. The thunderbolt feeds great in my 10/22.

I've seen the 124 gr. NATO at 2 different WM's in my area. They are selling the REM green/white box 115 gr. ammo @ $7.97, so I buy that for plinking/range shooting. Otherwise I can get REM or Blazer Brass in 115/124 gr. @ $8.99/box. My 9's shoot well with both, but slightly better with 124 gr.

As far as Thunderbolt 22's go, my Browning Buck Mark eats them up like candy and accuracy is very good. They do lead up after a while, but cleaning takes care of that. Walmart has good prices on all their 22 ammo, and you can buy all you want now, lol. Buy 'em while you can get 'em! :-)

Q4318 NATO is my carry ammo. Good stuff.

Definitely time to stock up again. Only 21 months until another election cycle, and we have seen how those can affect availability, prices, and hoarders.

For regular .22LR shooters a 550-round bulk pack for $20 provides an excellent opportunity to assure future supplies. Even one purchase per month over a year's time is over 6,000 rounds.

For 9mm shooters R-P green box at $8 or the 124 NATO at $28 per 150 rounds provide a great opportunity to stock up. For every box you plan to shoot purchase another box to go into storage for future dry spells.

As a reloader I am also stockpiling primers now while availability is good and prices are reasonable.

I've had good results from recently made Thunderbolt. I think they have changed the bullet alloy so the leading isn't what it it used to be. At sub freezing temperatures I will get a weak shot or two out of 50 but I'll accept that for the price.
I can get 9 mm range ammo for $9 a box from several local stores.
Now I am scouting cheap 20 gauge for my soon to arrive Shockwave.

In reference to the Thunderbolt, the ammo I got was years ago when Dick’s Sporting Goods had a “buy 1 get 1 half off” sale. They very well could have improved on the alloy. The leading in my Ruger 22/45 was severe.

KBG, I shoot very little .22LR, but was glad too see our local WM start carrying the 9MM NATO. I've used thousands of rounds of the Win. Q4318 over the last couple of decades. It functions reliably in any pistols, revolvers or carbines I've used it in. That, and sealed case mouth and primer. What's not to like;)

Are these NATO rounds steel cased?
