Got lucky at Walmart today. Wife sent me for a couple things and like most of you, I swung by ammo dept. They were well stocked but a lot of stuff that doesn’t sell. I did spot 2 boxes of .270 Remington Core-Lokt 130gr. I bought them both for $27 a piece. I won’t need it for probably 3 yrs. But I grab it when I see it. I did the same with 2 boxes of 308 150gr Core Lokts back in the summer. Luckily all my Browning A Bolt II rifles shoot it great. I used to buy it for $12.99 and get a $3 rebate per box. I used to cringe when I paid $27 for 7mm mag. Now it’s the new norm. Good thing is a box of 20 will last me 4 seasons in my deer rifles. 3 practice rounds 2 deer. If all goes as planned.

Bald1 that is my load for my .270 Savage 110, used to pay $14.99 for it at Walmart. Bought a box of Fiocci .25 at my FFL today at $40 plus tax. He had 2 boxes of CoreLokt .30-30 on the shelf for $50 each!

Yeah Angel , you could spend a whole lot more, but why? I shoot Core Lokt in 7mag, 308,30/30,270 and 243. They all group at least MOA. I always liked it because you could find it anywhere. Not so much anymore.

$50 is crazy. But guys will pay it rather than switch and have to re-sight gun.

The old stand by Remington C/L design bullet will kill any deer or game, if placed right
in most rifles, if you can do your part at placing it in the right spot.

Just that with it's BC, I keep my shots at 300 yards or less, depending on the Cal. or rifle that I am using
and the size of the animal that is being stalked.

The "Deadliest Mushroom" in the forest, I'm told.

The local Wally Worlds no longer carry ammo. I guess too much was walking out the door on its own power.

Ouch! I just let a guy have five boxes of 30-30 from my stash for $30 a box and thought that was high, but I didn't really want to sell it and he made the offer.
