Bought 10 boxes from Scheels today. Cost was close to that elusive figure. Blazer Brass 115 gr was 10.99 out the door. No sales tax in Montana. Getting closer than I thought it would get. And they had most all primers. Win were 64 per 1000. Fed match I think were 84.

At the 11 dollar price I still don't have to reload 9mms 7 dollar primers. 231/HP38 .powder at 28 a pound...that was on sale at Scheels too and 9mm plated bullets at 10 cents each. so 5.00 dollars+ 3.50+ powder cost...about 9 dollars a box. Makes 'em hardly worth loading. Lotta handle pulling for 2 dollars a box...even if I do have the necessary supplies and equipment

You lucky dog, you.

You guys out East always get the gravy before we even get to smell it !!

Maybe in June, for us ?

Glad that it is starting to happen.

I'm still thinking primers are going to settle at about`50 to 55 a thousand. If they still have 9s at that price tomorrow I may pick up another 10 boxes. Got to have the battery replaced in the Subaru.
June?? about the time spring starts here

I'm still hoping for $40/K but I just don't know if that hope has legs.

I just did a post last week laying out that to reload 9mm 124 grain bullets would cost around $11.00 / box of 50 - at current prices. I also said that unless you have the components in stock (at old prices), it hardly pays to use newly priced components to reload for 9mm.

That said, it does still pay (from a monetary stand point) for many other calibers such as 45 acp, 38 spl, 45-70, 38-55, 38 super, 44 mag, 45 Colt, etc,. etc.

I have seen 9mm factory prices dropping lately (Target Sports) and if you buy a case the shipping to your door is free - which is something else to consider in a final cost analysis.

Well...the elusive 10 dollar 9mm are no longer elusive...While picking up my order of primers powder and ammo this AM I saw 50 Rd boxes of 115 gr FMJ ammo fo the cheaper than 10 dollar price...9.99 a box. Don't really know who made it... but I;ll check later.. I ended up getting 8000 primers getting 2 M for a friend. Only primers I couldn't get were large rifle as they were sold out(and I didn't need 'em). SO ArchAngelCD...you have seen one of your wishes come true

where were you shopping?

Scheels in Billings Mt...no shipping no insurance and no sales tax. I opened one box and it looked ok. Scheels had plenty of ammo...no 32 S&W or H&R mag though. I looked at 38 sp +P 125 gr HPs. 34.95...then about 6 bucks off.41s 44s of both flavors and 45 Colt. Not cheap but a lot of it. Rifle ammo too. They had all the small primers and I got a couple thousand Rem LPPs. HP 38/231 was under 28 a pound. I got one for me and one for a friend.

I have an affinity for American Eagle 147gr ammo, AE9FP.

It is easy to find on the interweb for under $20 per box of FIFTY. Assuming OP is talking about 20 round boxes for under ten, I think the AE9FP qualifies.

$349.80 a case at sgammo.

I wish we had a Scheels around here. They seem to have really fair consistent pricing and good inventory.

The BP and Cabelas that we have are just out there from a pricing perspective.

I have been relying on a mid-size local retailer that has 3 locations and decent pricing as well as the i-net.

Good deal

I picked up 5 boxes of 9mm couple weeks ago on sale for $11.39 I believe? And I don't buy a lot of factory ammo. But at that price yes.

Scheels offers free shipping on most ammo . I just placed an order myself.

Still $90-100 per K around here.

$65 would be real nice.

Had to visit the Doc in Billings today to check the replacement site for the pacemaker. Stopped back into Scheels and all the 9.99 9mm ammo was gone(go figure) but they still had 11 dollar Blazer Brass. I couldn't help myself and bought some more primers and powder. I bought a pound of H335 for a friend and a pound of 231 for me. They still had Remington LPPs and Win SPPs

Over the past few weeks I've gotten a lot of emails for 9mm 115 and 124 grain ammo at under $12 for 50 rounds. That price includes shipping, when buying either 500 or 1,000 rounds (depending on the place). These were name brands too.

With this in mind, I'll probably grab another one or two thousand so I have it for the next invented catastrophe that causes the price to skyrocket. I'm shooting stuff I bought 20 years ago, so it doesn't go bad.

I think ammo prices are headed in the right direction. Absent another crisis (natural or politically induced) I would expect but the box price of 9mm everyday shooting ammo to settle in at $10-12 by mid summer, with bulk prices regularly showing up at under $20/100.
Admittedly my crystal ball is cracked and somewhat cloudy, but that’ my story and I’m sticking to it. ;)

I finally bought 7000 primers. keeping 2000 LPPs and 2000 SPPs 1000 SRPs for my future use. the other 2000 are for 2 friends. These were the first LPPs I have seen for a long time. I had 1500 LPPs but 1000 are really old...Herter's...cost 5 dollars for the thousand. I will use them loading 45 auto. Gonna use a 1000 of the new for 41, 44 spec/mag and some 45 Colt. keep the rest for the future. Oh the 9.99 per box 9mms...the brand name is Ammo Incorporated(AMMOINC.COM). Says made in USA. Never heard of the brand. Scheels had lots of other Ammo Inc branded ammo in 38,357 45 Colt and I think 45 ACP. priced higher but lower than the big brands. Not saying loss leaders... got buyers in the store. But available powder and primers did that too. Except for pricing the loaded shelves looked like the days of yore. Rifle ammo too
