Got a Remora holster
After hearing Erich and others sing the praises of these holsters, I picked one up for my 642, the IWB/pocket with regular top. I was somewhat skeptical at first to all the claims, but these holsters live up to their rep and even more. It stays put, no matter what you do to try and dislodge it. Great product, it's my go to IWB holster.

I carry my 442 owb but I'm thinking of the Remora for my wife's 642 since she's usually wearing a skirt or pants without any kind of belt. Hopefully it will stay put with the elastic waistbands in much of her clothes.

She won't even need a belt, this thing is like flypaper, clings like crazy. It even conforms to the shape of the gun, as if it were boned.

I have been using the remora holster for a few weeks now. I have one for my 2 inch k frame, one for the 2 inch ruger sp or lcr and my wife uses one of the jframe holsters for her charter arms. They all work well and I have been pleased with them. All of the above are the standard pocket/IWB holsters. The holster for the 2.5 inch K frame works in a fairly deep pocket. I have one with the sweatshield and reinforcement insert for a 4 inch Kframe but find it a little on the bulky/long side and wouldn't go that route again, although it is handy for my 4-5 inch k frame fixed sight revolvers, and my fixed sight 4 5/8 inch ruger single six. They are well made and once broken in, are comfortable and provide a fairly clean draw from the pocket as well as IWB. They definitely provide some padding comfort for IWB and stay in place. The remora single mag pouches are really handy for mags, flashlights and my leatherman wave. My wife really likes her pocket/IWB holster as it allows her to toss the holstered gun between her backpack, carseat, pocket and waistband as she feels the need. She finds it works pretty well with sweatpants and jogging pants that have drawstrings instead of belts. Alan is also a great guy to deal with and will absolutely ensure that you are satisfied.

Anyone know what the difference is between the Remora Series 8CH Holster (Pocket / IWB), J - FRAME REVOLVERS, LOWER PROFILE HOLSTER FOR CONCEALED HAMMER REVOLVERS 2 1/8” BARREL
and the Remora Series 8UC Holster (Pocket / IWB), J - FRAME REVOLVERS, ULTRA CARRY - LOWEST PROFILE HOLSTER FOR CONCEALED HAMMER REVOLVERS 2 1/8” BARREL?
I don't see pictures of the two. Thanks!

I would call the owner, Alan, he'd explain each one to you. I went with the standard style. I can post a pic later if you like.

I just got one of the new Remora IWB/pocket J frame holsters (one with a reinforced top). It's nice, but I don't like it as much as I like my Uncle Mike's pocket holster which I use for IWB carry of a S&W Model 36. The Remora is bulkier and almost too grippy--harder to get the holster in and out of the waistband, and not in a good way for me. Not as comfortable as the Uncle Mikes.

I have been using a Remora reinforced top for my BG380 for over a month now and am very impressed with the way it performs. I can easily draw and re-holster without difficulty.
I will call Alan soon to order another one for my 642 and Colt Defender.

MSgt......as I recall from my talk with Alan, the company owner, I think the difference between the Jframe holsters has to do with the overall height of the holster with the UC being the shortest top to bottom. I am not sure if it is different in any other dimensions, but as I recall the intent is to make it the smallest and best suited for pocket carry. Hopefully I am giving you good info, it was a while ago when I spoke with Alan.

Just spoke with Alan about my wife's 642 with concealed hammer and 1-7/8" barrel. He said the 8CH is the correct one for her application and that there would be a little extra room at the bottom.

Talking to Alan is always a pleasure, that guy knows his products and his customers.
I have 3 Remora's and I wear at least one of them every day.....great deal for an inexpensive way to effectively hide and carry a handgun...period

I've got one for a 642 and it's very comfortable when used for appendix carry.
Edit to add: I use the 8CH model and would like to try the 8UC. The 8CH is just a bit deep being it's designed for the 2 1/8" barrel and I use the 1 7/8" barrels exlusively.

Love mine. Such a simple design, and works so well... and it's actually comfortable! Money well spent.

I like the holsters, but find them overly bulky for what they are. They are a minimalist concept - which I like - but wish they would streamline the footprint.

You're welcome. Hope that helps. It's kind off wrinkled up looking because I'm using it today.
