Default stun guns?

Thinking about carrying a stun gun to certain events that prohibit "firearms". I was just wondering if very many folks on this forum ever carry one. Not a taser, but a plain old stun gun. I also wonder if they are considered legal to carry concealed in Missouri by having a CCW. 2 million volts seems a bit powerful. I got an UZI that is advertised to have 2 million volts. Could one of those be lethal if the victim has heart problems?
Just wondering,
Gordon

Good question. Used one on a pitbull once. Zapped him on the rear and he changed his attitude real quick.

The only thing that concerns me about stun guns is tactics. They require you to be very close. Too close for me I think. With pepper spray, at least you don't have to be quite as close.

They're also around $1100 retail.... no thanks. By the time you deploy the dang thing you could have done a lot of other evasive or pre-emptive stuff. Pepper spray deploys with your key ring and buys time if you don't hang around, plus it won't land you in a security situation (minus your 1000 buck tazer..)
I always remind the kids to be aware of available cover and have an active exit strategy at any public or crowded event. You might want to look into a kubaton (looks like a heavy, ball point pen) or other low profile, close defense tool and learn how to use it. You can carry several layers of personal defense fairly cheaply.
Being situationally aware, watchful and confident will go a long way toward keeping you out of the victim pool.

Uh, stun guns are like $80...Tasers are $1,100

FYI, it is the AMPS, not the VOLTS in a electronic control device that make it non-lethal. Volts are just used to try and impress you with a huge number.

It's the high voltage that locks up your muscles and temporarily paralyses you, it's because it has such extremely low amperage which makes it less than lethal.

Tasers don't kill people, people kill people
.
But seriously, I personally have only seen stun guns and cattle prods used by Mexican police as an interrogation tool.(and cattle prods at feed lots and rodeos)
