EDC how many hours per day? On body carry

About 8 1/2hrs two or three days a week at work in a gun shop, before and after that the gun is in its holster in the truck.

Other days it depends. Longer and more often in the cooler months I’ve recently noticed - need to get out of that bad habit and carry every day and longer in the summer months.

If I'm out, I'm armed. Always pocket carrying. Most comfortable for me.

I have carried anywhere from a couple hours out, to 12-14 hours on long work days.

I am always armed when out of my house (or a gun is nearby while in my house).

A great holster makes a big difference.

Agreed. I love mine. It just got put to the test today, went to a trampoline park and it held no issues even jumping around.

I also think choosing a realistic carry gun (in my case a j frame as well) makes every day carry for long periods of time feasible.

I am a fitness coach and lead hikes, so some days I am carrying 10 to 15 miles in rugged terrain, a quality holster is an absolute must in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of the phlster enigma express since I often carry in workout shorts and t shirt, so no belt secure option ot gets the job done. It costs quite a bit, and need some modifications to really be its best, but worth it to me. Mine is A lot uglier then yours but it works for me 🤣👍

Ive never left the house in the past 20+ years without a snub in my pocket. Except the few times Ive had to go to traffic court to contest a parking ticket or when I had to get a colonoscopy or several times when my dad had to go to the emergency room.

I put on an IWB holster with a pistol or revolver as soon as I get up and dressed in the morning and I wear it until I get undressed at night. It then lives in a holster along side the mattress.

A hand gun in a drawer or across the room is useless if someone kicks down your door. It’s also useless if you leave it home for a quick trip to the local stab and grab.

Consequently, a good carry belt, well designed holster and a comfortable to to carry handgun is essential. A good belt and holster will allow you to carry a heavier and or larger handgun that is virtually always easier to shoot accurately at speed.

I love this thread! So nice to know that so many of us do the same things - like minded Americans! LOVE IT!

Again, DITTO!!!!!!!

I have some friends who definitely understand this concept but one of them loves to ask me and I always give him the same answer - Did the sun come up today? :D

Like some others, I carry from getting up in the morning, to going to bed at night. My holster is so comfortable that I can't even tell I'm carrying.

Simple enough concept, how many hours per day is your EDC on your person?

I do not sleep with it on me so there is 6 to 8 hours a day I can't carry. I consider this time the "night shift" where long gun becomes primary defensive tool

Before I got my CCW I was technically "every day carry", but I could only legally carry a few hours in the morning before work, on my lunch break, and when I got home. In this period at MOST I'd carry 5 hours a day.

Now I have ccw and can legally carry, I am up 6am, out the door I carry 630 am to at least 10pm before adding layers to home security taking holster off and having loaded long gun ready within a few seconds to being ready for live fire action.

I went from pre ccw maybe 5 hours, getting used to carrying and concealing, to carrying 15+ hours a day.

I'm posting this not to flex "look how much I carry bro!" And more out of curiosity of how long your EDC typical "carry shift" is and if you transition at some point.. ie in truck pistol in glove box or center console while a truck gun becomes primary. Or at home / work staged off body and near by, like under desk mounted holster, or on bedstand, in a stop box or some kind of quick access safe.

I also wonder if there is people out there (kind of like me pre ccw) who maybe just carry a few hours or maybe 1 or less per day but still consider themselves EDC. or on the other extreme maybe some of you carry 24/7/365 and strap holsters on the pjs. Or sleep with one loaded under the pillow 😅 I don't know but I do wonder 🤔
Anyone who thinks they need to attach a gun to their pajamas needs to find a different place to live.
