Bob Mika holster

I was thinking of ordering one, but couldn't decide between the round and square bottoms. What are the pros and cons? I would use the holster for a small revolver, probably in jeans, but it could wind up in Dockers.

Get one of each, they're cheap. The idea is to match the round cut with round cut pockets (typical jeans front pocket, etc.) and the square to square pockets (cargo pants, back pockets, coat pockets, 5.11-type trousers, etc.). If you can only get one, get the round- it'll fit in a square pocket (although not ideally) but a square holster in a round pocket is a mess.

I've had a round cut for my 642 for several years now. Best pocket holster I've owned and works great in my jeans or dockers. I've been intending to get a square cut for some time now, need to give him a call.

I have several of the round cut pocket holsters. Fit good in my jeans.

I've got a round cut and use it for my 642. It is a great holster and would recommend it to anyone.

I've got a round pocket cut for my 640 and I don't think you can beat it for pocket concealment. The price and quality are top notch.

I have several of his pocket holsters, they are made very well and last a long time. I think the genious of his holsters is that he will make it to fit your pocket, and fit your gun. It needs to fit both to be really effective. The other pocket holster manufacturers don't get it.

Also I have one of his IWB holsters for my PPS, and it is one of the best available. Thin strong and comfortable, with a very strong clip. Ed

Good to know Ed. I'm waiting on one of Mika's IWB for my Shield.

I ordered and owned one of Bob's a couple of years ago when I had purchased a Shield. It was an excellent holster. I highly recommend him. I let the holster go with the pistol when I sold it, and the new owner liked it as well.

I've got a round bottom one for my "J" frame and it works great. Also despite the fact it's made for a "J" frame Smith a Colt DS fits dandy (maybe even better)

Also, the holster stays in the pocket when you draw. I have one of each for j frames and end up using them most often.

Bob Mika is a nice guy, former LAPD, and he makes nice pocket holsters. In theory, I suppose you try to match the bottom of the holster with the shape of the bottom of the pants pocket.

That said, I was not aware he made any sort of combo holster. The OP said he was using his pocket holster for both an M&P (K frame) and a J frame. That I can figure out - bought for the K frame and the J frame drops right in the holster.

The part about using it as a pocket holster an also an IWB for Appendix carry, however, I do not understand, unless the OP is simply sticking the holster in the waistband for a "friction hold." If that is what is going on, I would advise against it. A belt holster without an attachment method (yes, even including the various "sticky" holsters) is "amateur night out," and a very bad idea.

Bob is a real gentleman and he puts out a great product at a very fair price. I use his holsters for my J Frames and he also made one for my laser equipped LCP which keeps the gun in place and gives me a clean draw every time.
