Anyone on the forum purchased their DVD series entitled " The Armed American's Complete Concealed Carry Guide To Effective Self-Defense by Patrick Kilcherman? Seems quite pricey at just under $200.

If so, what are YOUR impressions?

Thanks everyone!

Never heard of him. This gentleman is also a chiropractor. He also sells a three dvd set which tries to teach you an in home remedy to treat sciatica.

You be the judge.

Check on Thunder Ranch videos.

Gaining knowledge from a video is fine but it will never be a replacement for hands on training and practice.

I looked at the website and was unable to find any references for the author. No LE or military experience or LE, military, or private training experience was listed anywhere. The advertising style feels like the cheap ads for miracle water in the back of a magazine.

These are two of the Amazon one-star reveiws:

I confess my wife and I have not gone through the whole program but probably never will. It is that boring. We will return the product if allowed. I'm x law enforcement but it's been a while since my Calibre Press Street Survival Seminars but this series is no answer. We started the first of seven DVDs for an hour last night and got NOT ONE nugget in all that time. I fast forwarded to see if the teaching format was ever going to get more interesting. It did not. The presenter stands in front of a white blank screen delivering dry rambling conversation the whole time.Repeatedly telling us what he intends to teach but never getting to it. He then says lets jump in and it's nothing but more rambling in front of the white screen. We jumped ahead hoping the training DVD would get in to more of the meat and potatoes and a better format. It did not just more rambling and a white screen. There were even several "YATA YATA YATAS" and hums ... as part of the presentation like he was making it up as he went. To be fair we were constantly warned by the presenter that it was going to be very very long and could be boring at times, and it was but then we were encouraged to stick it out for our own good. At one point the claim was made that this is, "the finest training in the world". He thinks far more of his video than we did. I've participated in good training and this was not good training. His promotional video that enticed us to but the series might be his best work just like so many movie trailers. The presenter needs an outline to follow, a more interesting format and could probably reduce the whole thing down to 2 DVDs if he would just get on with it already!! As we found ourselves yelling at the TV screen. We will continue to look for what we hoped this would be. We want to be prepared and should practice but this will be no help. I'm not sure what expertise this presenter brings to his product other than working for the magazine USCCA. It was never brought up.

I bought this because I am a Concealed Carry Instructor who is certified by multiple agencies. However, I am always looking for new nuggets of knowledge that I can incorporate into my training programs. It think this stream is panned out.

Nice packaging, a few spiffy animated opening and closes with a thumping soundtrack. The content? Warmed over oatmeal gleaned from several other reputable concealed carry instructors served up by an unshaven, t-shirted young man droning on for hours, lecturing in front of a plain, white background. Occasionally there is a cut away to actual shooting on the "range". Not a real range, mind you, but a sand pit in the countryside somewhere. And it is pretty much the same thing over and over. While his message is accurate, he repeats himself time and time again... and not to make a point but because he doesn't remember that he already covered the topic. His other favorite approach is to mention a subject and then say "and we'll come back to that in a minute..." which, of course he fails to do.

Do a Google search on the author and you will find that he has had somewhat checkered past within the firearms training industry and the "home remedy for carpal tunnel syndrome" business as well. On his "Concealed Carry University" website, he does not boast or claim any training or qualifications other than he wants to "serve" Americans by teaching his unique understanding of Concealed Carry. Most instructors claim all sorts of qualifications, as minute as they may be; the fact that he doesn't is a red flag to me.

Don't waste your money; there are many, many better programs out there.

I purchased this program about six months ago. If you check the concealed carry university website,I beleave there is a money back guarantee. Go to Amazon for more reviews. I have been shooting for over fifty years, have taken training courses from some of the best in the country, have shot in compition, trained others in handgun and rifle shooting and did security for the Federal government for over twelve years. The program is excellent for anyone thinking about concealed carry. I found it covered 95% of what you need to know. Take 30 to 40 minutes of watching at a time. It took me about 2 months to casually go through the program and I passed it on to my son who is interested in CCW. I am also a certified "train the trainer". Repeating information is what the instructor is supposed to do. Good luck in your pursuit and safe shooting.
