Will speedloaders for S&W K frames or L frames fit the new Kimber K6s six shot revolver? I would be using .38 special, not .357 magnum rounds.

The K6s isn't compatible with K or L frame speed loaders.

It does have the same cylinder pattern as a Colt D frame. However, in order to use Safariland or HKS the outside material of the speed loader between the rounds has to be sanded down flat. Only then will the loader clear the frame and allow for a smooth reload.

5 Star makes speed loaders that work without modification, and Kimber sells them with their logo. If you order directly from 5 Star I am told they will assemble the loader to twist release either clockwise or counter-clockwise if requested.

That's too bad, I have a half dozen each of HKS and/or Safariland loaders for J frames, K frames and for 686...was hoping to avoid the expense, if I purchase an already expensive revolver...maybe I won't. Due to some wheeling and dealing, and general thinning of the herd, I find myself without a .38 Special revolver, but lots of loaded rounds and plenty of casings, primers, bullets and powder. Maybe its time for that birthyear S&W Victory model I have been thinking about for the last ten or so years. Thanks for the info.
