Rem/Ruger?

I feel the Ruger is the better gun. The Rem has the classic look.
I'm a RIA fan for a 'knock around gun" (I have several). If I found a Ruger at my LGS (and was looking for that type) I would buy it.
BUT I just picked up another 1911 used, SA loaded, a better gun than any of these for no more money, and after some blue touchup will be the best looking.

The reviews I've read puts the Ruger over the Remington.

The Metro Arms guns, out of Manila, are actually even nicer than the Armscor 1911s.

I have one. Fine for a knock around gun.

For all other uses, eh, just get a Colt

I have a Ruger on order but no delivery date yet. I did pick up a Remington last fall and I've run about a thousand rounds through it. It is dead-on accurate, the fit and finish is excellent, and I've seen no problems with it at all. It will eat both hardball and SWC ammo just fine with no modification of the ramp required. I would say the quality of the Remington is right on par with any of my other 1911s: Colt 1911, Ithaca 1911A1, Remington Rand 1911A1, and another Colt 1911A1.

No Remington, no Ruger. Ordered another Rock Island Armory. A "tactical" model to go with my Match. Love the Match. Hope I like this one too.
